Hope everyone doesn't mind, I'm to keep the discussion going. As you were folks :)

Wow the Sun is sitting on the fence. Looks the Krankies are losing momentum.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 16/09/2014 22:19

Annie - yes, I heard that and someone on the radio today - it was not my intention to make it seem like my own thoughts - sorry. Just that it's not had a lot of air and certainly no answers from 'Yes at any cost'.

flipin thanks, I caught a little bit of GB on that, I will go and watch the whole thing later, I just thought I might have missed something else.

BakerStreetSaxRift · 16/09/2014 22:21

If the result is a Yes, I hope we can get Gordon Brown running the country.

I'm actually feeling much calmer now I've heard him discuss everything in that Dimbleby interview.

I'm watching it with a delay, so haven't seen AS yet, blood pressure has time to skyrocket

EarthWindFire · 16/09/2014 22:21

It was just on the BBC news too about the Sun.

flippinada · 16/09/2014 22:24

Snap squoosh. I don't quite get twitter, I'm not sharp enough

Latte you are welcome. I am conscious that confirmation bias will affect how I view them both so genuinely interested in opinions from both sides.

Perhaps I'm way off beam but I do wonder if AS is thinking shit, this might actually happen, what the hell do I do now?!

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 16/09/2014 22:24

Funnily enough, given everything that is now being promised to Scotland if there's a NO vote, I might have to move up Grin

I don't think you are 'way off beam', it's been mentioned a few times. If it's keeping him up at night I couldn't be more pleased Grin

Assuming that there's not some big reveal inside it does look like Murdoch has gone for the splinters option

Is that pretty much all papers declared now? Is the Record in splintersville too?

flippinada · 16/09/2014 22:29

Well, I've lost sleep over this , and I'm not the only one, so it's only right he does too :)

I am welsh married to a Englishman with one Scottish parent and one English parent, both living in Scotland. We live in Wales ! Please don't break up the union. I really feel strongly that the choice has been given but not always given to the right people. My Welsh sister married to an Englishman lived in Scotland until last year. It's all so sad :-(

flippinada · 16/09/2014 22:30

Also wondering if GB is considering a role for himself in Scottish Politics come Friday...

So who is going to buy The Sun to check?

I bought The Sunday Post on Sunday but The Sun is a step too far.

AnnieHoo · 16/09/2014 22:32

Totally agree with you latte and support what you say. This definitely hadn't been given enough air time and people going through treatment over the border must be worried sick! It's so regressive.Hmm

PhaedraIsMyName · 16/09/2014 22:32

I thought The Record was a clear no.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/09/2014 22:33

nope, sorry. I'll stand on an Edinburgh street manning a stall for 4 hours, but buying the Sun us a step too far in the name of duty.

flippinada · 16/09/2014 22:34

Im pretty sure the Record is staunchly pro-union.

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 16/09/2014 22:35

I thought it was then saw someone else say it wasn't. Their cringeworthy "our Vow" front page suggested it was!

AnnieHoo · 16/09/2014 22:35

Watching The papers now on bbc news to see what they say about Murdoch.

cedricsneer · 16/09/2014 22:35

Slightly worryingly it says that only 0.1% of undecided have swung to no in mail poll. Vast majority swung to yes.

BakerStreetSaxRift · 16/09/2014 22:36

Well Flip, I truly believe this referendum will be the end of Alex Salmond, whether it's a yes or a no.

I wouldn't mind at all if GB was back at the fore, I trust him.

squoosh · 16/09/2014 22:37

I don't think the Daily Record has come out with a blatant 'Hurrah for the Union' type front page. But it's pretty obvious where their loyalties lie. Also this morning's The Vow was a big indicator.

Luckytwo · 16/09/2014 22:37

I have watched both Gordon brown and Alex salmond tonight, I actually thought that both came across fairly well ( not sure I like saying that - on either count)
I think all in it will be a no vote but we will be rehashing this for years to come, I reiterate what I have said before, neither Cameron, nor clegg nor milliband have a mandate at the moment to offer more powers to Scotland , so I wouldn't be swayed by the letter to the daily record ( since when did that become the medium of choice for Scotland )
These will be matters to be decided by vote in the general election next year, by the whole of the UK -oh that thing where Scotland's voice isn't heard.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/09/2014 22:41

I'm guessing it was the Record by virtue of being one of the main tabloids and not being owned by Murdoch!

Luckytwo I think the timetable is for pre-GE change. I'm not basing my vote on it - I hope it happens for the sake of the Yes voters (if it's a No) and for the sake of healing the rift a bit.

PhaedraIsMyName · 16/09/2014 22:42

The Record also carried the NHS leak and the letter from the Economics academics.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/09/2014 22:43

Thanks Phaedra - I did think they were No. Who is out for Yes? I think the Sunday Herald was (or did I imagine that) but is there anyone else? I know quite a few have "come out" over the last week as No.
