Hope everyone doesn't mind, I'm to keep the discussion going. As you were folks :)

Thank you! I agree with Luckytwo and I think that Scotland can most certainly do it, but I do hope that the people of Scotland will decide that it is best to stay together. I have many friends who will vote Yes and I love them dearly and I respect their opinions but I do also post my husband's photo on their facebook pages :) and so far they have tolerated it :)

Luckytwo · 16/09/2014 19:51

Things I mean not innings. :)

AnnieHoo · 16/09/2014 19:51

Two further polls out tonight. 9pm: ICM poll for The Guardian
Today – 10:30pm: Survation poll for the Scottish Daily Mail

TeamScotland · 16/09/2014 19:55

Saw those tweets too irn

Agree with you lucky

I see Betfair have paid out on No bets. Sorry if this has been done, I haven't RTFT.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/09/2014 19:56

Yeah, no idea what Betfair are playing at.

squoosh · 16/09/2014 19:56

Your little boy is scrumptious thehajduk.

squoosh · 16/09/2014 19:57

I think Betfair may be paying out as a bit of a publicity stunt.

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/09/2014 19:58

I suspect so Squoosh.

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 16/09/2014 20:00

Yes, as in 'we're so confident in our odds' sort of way.

Spose a betting firm can bet on itself Grin

Cambiodenombre · 16/09/2014 20:01

I wonder at the end of all this what the global perception of Scotland will be. AS and his SNP colleagues have threatened business with a day of reckoning, publicly tried to discredit many well respected economists and business leaders and accused them all of colluding against Scotland. He has endorsed a mass assault on the media that now has many journalists being told they are biased whatever they report (especially anything daring to criticise yes). He has made many grandiose assumptions on just what he can get if he wins (CU, rapid if not automatic EU membership are two pretty critical ones) and refuses to admit for a second that these might happen. The campaign he has spearheaded has been downright nasty and intimidating at time (see the Ed Milliband video if you need proof) If you were on the outside looking in, would you trust him? Would you think this was a safe bet for your new business?

By the way I know there has been appalling behaviour on both sides but the no campaign isn't trying to strike out on its own in a world where you need allies, it already has those

TeamScotland · 16/09/2014 20:07

Jim Sillars, not Alex Salmond, made the 'day of reckoning' comments and Nicola Sturgeon has since said she disagrees with them.

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 16/09/2014 20:10

Of course Scotland could do it. The question is, should it?

At the moment, where we are, with it likely to be a bitter and protracted divorce, I don't think it should. I would much rather everyone calmed down, WM took Scotland seriously in its political aspirations, and it become a more measured negotiation, further devolution, then a final referendum on complete independence.

I spose a sort of 'conscious uncoupling' Grin

Cambiodenombre · 16/09/2014 20:10

I said "his colleague" His comments will still be associated with the campaign whether he likes it or not. And his comments earlier this week when asked whether all the business that warned of negative consequences were wrong were along the lines of "they are all doing as they are told by WM" absolutely no concession to the fact there may be truth in what they are saying, it was all just scaremongering from the other side

Cambiodenombre · 16/09/2014 20:12

Let me clarify. Sillars comments will be connected and it was AS comments in edinburgh airport I was referring to. I just wonder if he has lost credibility, and lost scotland credibility in the process

TeamScotland · 16/09/2014 20:14

You said AS and his SNP colleagues - a misleading statement.

EarthWindFire · 16/09/2014 20:15

Your little boy is scrumptious thehajduk.

^ this.

Much needed today.

TeamScotland · 16/09/2014 20:15

We'll find out on Friday if credibility was lost. Not long to wait now.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 16/09/2014 20:16

There is a lot of ramping up the 'Once in a lifetime opportunity'. It's so not.

Cambiodenombre · 16/09/2014 20:17

Sorry his former SNP colleagues.

EarthWindFire · 16/09/2014 20:17

I seriously wish it was over. I've spent most if today thinking it was Wednesday... Then suddenly realising it's Tuesday and there is still another day of this yet Sad

TeamScotland · 16/09/2014 20:17

Thirty years to wait until another referendum, so for many it is.

Cambiodenombre · 16/09/2014 20:19

I believe that about as much as I believe in Santa. I give it 5-10 years max

flippinada · 16/09/2014 20:22

EarthWindFire I feel the same Thanks.

We've had 3 referendums in the last 35 years. It's not wildly optimistic to suggest there might be another one in 10 or 15.

Spiritedwolf · 16/09/2014 20:26

In the event of a no vote, I think it depends on how close the result is, the further devolution goes, on the GE result and how the SNP react internally to a no vote.

They might be able to come up with something more credible than the White Paper.

I wish that whichever way the vote goes we can get away from the constitutional arguments and get on with really using politics to help people with the powers we have. But I fear that either way we may continue the navel gazing.

The SNP are so determined to believe and prove that devolution is crap that they don't use the powers they have to work towards the things thy say they want.

The other parties don't believe we're powerless or hard done by, they want to get on and do stuff.

OneNight · 16/09/2014 20:34

Thirty years to wait until another referendum, so for many it is.

Not so TS. I wasn't joking when I said that I believed that massive work will be needed by all parties to get Scotland together whatever the result. In the event of a No vote, you're allowed a couple of days off and then you'll have to start again. Sorry 'bout that but everyone will be needed to shape the future.
