to believe there MUST be a reasonably priced conditioner that doesn't smell of loo cleaner?

I bought the cheap as chips Ultimate Blends and it smells of Harpic. I've bought Elvive sulphate-free stuff that smells like a tart's boudoir. I've bought hand-crafted from Martian pearls by elves Aveda expensive stuff and it leaves my hair like straw. Is there a decent, mid-price conditioner that smells lovely and deals with my fine-but-masses-of-it hair?

Alberto Balsam.

Aussie miracle moist conditioner

TortoiseshellSpecs · 15/09/2014 14:10

Scent is such a personal thing, I might like one that you think honks to high heaven and vice versa.

I like the sulphate free L'Oreal EverRiche one in the pale gold tube. Smells like caramel.

I like Alberto balsam too.

I use dr organic from holland and barratt. The coconut one. It doesn't smell of coconut imo, it's nice!

Herbal essences is my go to cheapy

zombiesheep · 15/09/2014 14:31

I second Aussie miracle moist

squatcher · 15/09/2014 14:35

I second EverRiche conditioner - smells good and sorts my mid-length, coloured hair out beautifully. Best I've used in years (and it's often on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots) it's not super-cheap otherwise.

OnIlkelyMoorBahtat · 15/09/2014 16:01

Aussie does indeed smell gert lush. I also like the smell of Tresemmé and they both leave my hair in a good state.

Ruralninja · 15/09/2014 16:02

I like Aussie Moist, but isn't quite smoothing enough for my mad hair... will give Alberto balsam a sniff, EverRiche smells a bit too strong imo (fussy)

Simple shampoo and conditioner are fab and don't smell of anything!

readyforno2 · 15/09/2014 16:07

Another vote for Aussie moist. Love it!

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 15/09/2014 16:09

I use Dove, I quite like the smell. I've got fine but lots of it hair too.

I tried Aveda years ago, thinking it would be lovely, and was similarly disappointed Sad

Symphonysuckz · 15/09/2014 16:11

Aussie 3 minute miracle. In our local sainsburys it was 3 bottles for £10 - it's great stuff and smells absolubtely divine.

Alberto balsam is also good and cheap as chips - the apple one smells lovely.

Herbal essences are usually on offer and they smell ok an do a pretty good job

Btw I have the longest curliest hair there is and have tried just about every bloody conditioner, detangler etc that there is!!

jellybelly701 · 15/09/2014 16:15

Albert balsam wins my vote hands down. There is often a three for two deal on them too and they are only £1 a bottle. I have arse length hair and a lot of it, it works a treat for me.

Chwaraeteg · 15/09/2014 16:16

Quarries essentials conditioner is scentless

sesamstrasse · 15/09/2014 16:16

Herbal essences the new Moroccan one

Chwaraeteg · 15/09/2014 16:16

Sorry, I meant WAITROSE essentials conditioner.

drigon · 15/09/2014 16:20

Aussie Leave-in Conditioner is excellent.

Cariad007 · 15/09/2014 16:27

Tigi shampoos and conditioners all smell lovely and if you buy them at places like TK Maxx or discount beauty sites they aren't that expensive.

Thisvehicleisreversing · 15/09/2014 16:33

Argan oil conditioner and hair masque stuff from poundland is great and smells lovely.

Thisvehicleisreversing · 15/09/2014 16:34

This range.

Also sold in B & Ms so cheap as chips.

Aussie!!!

Petitgrain · 15/09/2014 20:07

No shampoo has smelt fantastic since Vidal Sassoon's lovely almondy one in the 80's. I'm going to email him and tell him to bring it back. Even though he's dead.

Flipflops7 · 15/09/2014 20:26

Agree, Petitgrain.

I find Aussie a little bubblegummy but there is a conditioner called Naked Little Miracle that smells nice.
