Why change 'onto' into 'into'
Is onto such a rare word?
Have I got it wrong -should it be two words?

My old phone used to changed 'and' to 'abducted'.....so I've sent some really dodgy texts!

Mine makes me sound Italian by adding an a before a word. For example, will you have time to pick it a up? or that's such a rubbish! Greatest one was a late night text sent by a friend saying "There's something roddlegog around in the bushes. Help me!"

My DDs friend text her about an exam she had been worrying about. She said that she thinks she managed to remember everything and hopefully had passed. My DD meant to reply "I hope you did" but sent a reply saying " I hope you die"!

I turn auto correct off. I never get funny texts, just confusing ones.

I once had a client called Mr Bathgate. That got corrected to Mr Bathmat.

Mine changes "anyone" to "Antonella". I don't know anyone called Antonella, I've never had reason to type the word Antonella in my entire life, but my phone obviously does. My friend sent a text recently cringing at something mildly embarrassing she had done when we were out for coffee earlier that day, and I replied saying "don't worry, I don't think Antonella noticed". She replied "who TF is Antonella???". If only I knew...

Not an autocorrect error but instead a typo, but I sent this to the mum of one of my son's friends who came camping with us this summer:

"Yes, all going well. R does have a tendency to shit himself in his tent though!"

I meant sit.

My phone changes beyond to Beyoncé. I have never typed Beyoncé on it

My old phone would auto correct my name to drugs. So appropriate when sending texts to parents, signing off with love drugs x

Autocorrect drives me mad, but I like that it puts full stops and apostrophes in for me so I don't turn it off.

I've had heterosexual for here too.

My old phone, whenever I typed "asking" it autocorrected it to "ass ring"

I once wished my bf and her family "loss of life for Christmas and the New Year". And dh texted this morning to say he wondered if his brother's house was haunted because he woke up at 3 convinced someone was standing by his bed and I enquired "was it a male or female goat?" ...er, no.

Am I the only one who doesn't use it?

My phone gives me choices, which are pretty often the right ones and I never use autocorrect on my IPad.

Just turn it off.

Have you all checked in settings > general > keyboard?

You can set up autocorrects, I'm wondering if for some of the more outlandish ones, someone might be playing a trick...

Am crying laughing at some of these. Mine replaces in with UN - every flipping time. A mate asked what I was doing that day so I text her "going to Barton Marina". Except the text she received said " going to Baron Marinated". I got a text back saying "that sounds kinky"!
