Are you sure of those figures, cedricsneer? I'm seeing it at 40/42.

OneNight · 13/09/2014 20:04

(with 17 undecided and 1 obviously lost in the mist somewhere.)

ChelsyHandy · 13/09/2014 20:04

livingzuid If it takes however many years to build one tramline in Edinburgh at a cost of whatevers, then how on earth is it going to be done for a whole nation to be independent and everything that goes with it?

That for me is the salient question too.

Yes supporters either can't answer it and ignore it, or say something like it wasn't the Scottish Parliament's responsibility.

They already have the power to legislate. They should have made it their business.

cedricsneer · 13/09/2014 20:04

I think that may be the panel base observer one. All v confusing.

cedricsneer · 13/09/2014 20:06

Sorry here

OneNight · 13/09/2014 20:10

Thank you. Different references clearly. I was looking here.

I think I'll just take to my bed and hope to wake up on Friday. This is all getting too much for me.

TeamScotland · 13/09/2014 20:21

I think Scotland will be a better place if/when independent.

We'll find out if most people, who are voting on Thursday, agree with me on Friday.

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/09/2014 20:21

other polls out today

opinium/observer
YES 47%
NO 53%

Survation
YES: 46%
NO: 54%

Panelbase due later

ICM seem to be questionable due to size and methodology change and can't be compared to its previous one apparently

Interesting oldlady

I know that feeling

livingzuid · 13/09/2014 20:30

So you didn't answer my question teamscotland. I am disappointed. When the vote will be so close and the potential for the Yes to win is high, not being able to explain to those of us who voted no why it was so important will be gone.

Tell me what is so awful about life right now. What is it that is so bad here?

SantanaLopez · 13/09/2014 20:31

Ditto.

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/09/2014 20:34

I have some knowledge of big data type stuff. Major flaw is the reliance on the internet. That's fine for some topics but it's not really ideal for this IME as there is still a divide in digital interaction which may be particularly relevant in a situation like this.

However, interesting to note "The Newspapers want devolution! They may wish to appear independent, but devolution is going to sell more papers than a United Kingdom. Imagine all the stories as the political status quo starts to unravel. Chaos ensuing as Tax systems, Welfare systems, monetary systems and everything else goes up for grabs." in there as a conclusion. How does that fit with the YES campaign dialogue of a hideously biased mainstream press?

EarthWindFire · 13/09/2014 20:35

I am also worried that if it is a yes vote then people will be expecting rUK to roll over and say of course you can have x y and z.

In reality of course rUK will fight hard to do what is best for rUK which as we know has many millions of more people.

BardarbungaBardarbing · 13/09/2014 20:38

The Yes campaigners are spreading so much stuff around Facebook (although did they say they couldn't follow FB?) and Twitter it's true. It's a very public and extroverted space.

No voters are feeling shyer.

Not surprising when one of the commentators there is saying how will you feel when your child asks you how you voted...In my case like a responsible parent, ta for trying to make me feel guilty though!

livingzuid · 13/09/2014 20:39

EarthWindFire why do people not grasp the simple concept that if Scotland goes its own way, rUK will be looking after its own? Westminster has an electorate of its own it will want to please. Scotland will not be high on the list of priorities.

StatisticallyChallenged · 13/09/2014 20:40

I would agree that the Yes campaign are much more active on social media etc. My facebook timeline certainly doesn't reflect the voting intentions of those I know IYSWIM (yes I know anecdote is not data, my perception)

BardarbungaBardarbing · 13/09/2014 20:40

It is interesting oldlady, so thanks.

TeamScotland · 13/09/2014 20:44

Don't get me wrong, I think it is wonderful here. I have a nice life in Scotland.

I reckon it will be even more wonderful in the event of Independence. I think the most vulnerable in society will stand a better chance of having a better life.

I do not trust Westminster politicians one little bit. I don't think WM has Scotland's interests as a priority, at all. That is understandable, we are one 10th of the UK population. Why should they make us a priority? This week's love-bombing followed by mass scare mongering doesn't fool anyone, I think.

I've posted in the past about the disgust I feel at the many and widespread Westminster scandals.

The statements about prices going up, banks moving head offices (my bank's head office is in Spain, they can move any time they like if they wish), large company bosses (who mostly don't live here) saying how awful it will be, just don't wash. None of us know what it will be like.

Anyone else noticed how the phrase "Broken Britain" has been dumped by DaveCam?

ChelsyHandy · 13/09/2014 20:44

I read somewhere that AS didn't leave Scotland for the first time until he was in his twenties. And then it was only to England, and he didn't return there for another 7 years. And yet this man of limited experience (despite quite privileged opportunities) is attempting to tell an entire nation what they should do?

SantanaLopez · 13/09/2014 20:45

Not surprising when one of the commentators there is saying how will you feel when your child asks you how you voted...In my case like a responsible parent, ta for trying to make me feel guilty though!

I hate that one! My DD's favourite word is no anyway Grin

which is a perk of an eighteen month old rather than an early political streak, but nm

SantanaLopez · 13/09/2014 20:48

So why do you trust Scottish politicians? The SNP MPs didn't even bother to turn up for the bedroom tax vote!

The statements about prices going up, banks moving head offices (my bank's head office is in Spain, they can move any time they like if they wish), large company bosses (who mostly don't live here) saying how awful it will be, just don't wash. None of us know what it will be like.

You've got your head in the sand.
