Chelvis · 27/08/2014 18:04

sposies for disposable nappies makes me furious, but I probably shouldn't say that on mumsnet Grin

YOLO is baffling, as it seems to be mentioned when the individual is doing something utterly stupid - e.g. 'tomb stoning off the cliffs #YOLO!'. When surely as they acknowledge they only live once, they should be sensible? 'Having a smear test because health is important #YOLO' or 'Studying hard and passing my exams #YOLO' would make much more sense.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 27/08/2014 18:14

I swear far too much. And I say Oh. my. god.

But I work with a group of people who use totes, emosh, amaze etc - because it is ironic and they are sooooo cooool...... They are teachers, for fuck's sake. Annoys the tits off me, but I suspect that is why they do it.

The one that boils my piss is biatch. Just fuck off.

Nusalembongan · 27/08/2014 18:15

My bad is unbearable.

Make my teeth itch is pretty bloody dreadful too though.

'Cheeky' wine/cocktail/drink is beyond grim.

Salmotrutta · 27/08/2014 18:17

"Picky bits"???

Wouldn't that be scabs?

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 27/08/2014 18:18

Virtually all the above make me cross, I refuse to use them, and ostentatiously ignore my teenagers when they use them.

I also hate the tendency of teenagers to shorten their friends' names to end with a z. So Emma becomes Emz, Hatty is Hatz, Catharine is Catz, James is Jiz, etc.

Salmotrutta · 27/08/2014 18:20

They wouldn't really call a James "Jiz" surely MiddleAge?

Jazza would be the Glaswegian Scottish version of that..

carameldecaflatte · 27/08/2014 18:21

Gawjus.
Please learn to spell.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 27/08/2014 18:24

Fashion type ones are terrible

'on trend'
'bikini ready'
'colour pop'

Makes me want to punch something.

CoreyTrevorLahey · 27/08/2014 18:27

I actually have a real aversion to the use of 'surely' at the start of a statement. It just makes me think of pompous twats in Barbour jackets. I don't know why!

Kimaroo · 27/08/2014 18:34

We used to do that in the 60s middleaged! I had friends called Baz, Laz, Gaz, Kaz, Shaz, and Maz, (Barry, Larry, Gary, Karen, Sharon and Marion). That brings back memories!

devoncreamtea · 27/08/2014 18:41

I'm adding 'holibobs' - wtf?!

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 27/08/2014 18:44

Can everyone stop saying MAHOOSIVE please? It's really annoying, just say massive.

devoncreamtea · 27/08/2014 18:50

'nom nom'
puke puke.

thewavesofthesea · 27/08/2014 18:51

I was with someone at work today who used 'Lols' to describe something they found funny. It was then I realised I was in my 30s.

fourforksache · 27/08/2014 18:52

gilbert, yes, it's not innovative or amusing any more, same with cheeky shit and nom noms.

steff13 · 27/08/2014 20:33

I forgot one. Two, actually. "Comfy" and "uncomfy." Comfy bothers me slightly less than uncomfy, but they are both dire. It's not that difficult to say comfortable and uncomfortable.

jenniferalisonphillipasue · 27/08/2014 20:36

Genners
Like genuinely. Totes.

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 27/08/2014 21:03

Salmotrutta I think Jiz is short for Jim, or rather short for Jimz.

Heyho111 · 27/08/2014 21:12

Emotional roller coaster , journey (as in experience) arghhhhhh!!!

CPtart · 27/08/2014 21:16

AugustAngst · 27/08/2014 21:22

Blueshoes what's wrong with 'best wishes' ?? Blush

MistressDeeCee · 27/08/2014 21:34

I totally "heart" my amazing boyf (heard on a college campus)...SHUT...UP!!!

PacificDogwood · 27/08/2014 21:37

Has anybody mentioned 'trouser' yet? Singular?
Agree with most of the other although am guilty of using 'natch' in a v cool, post-modern ironic way from time to time Wink

ExitPursuedByAKoalaBear · 27/08/2014 21:40

Comfy is a word.

ExitPursuedByAKoalaBear · 27/08/2014 21:41

Trouser.

Makes me laugh.
