ChaffinchOfDoom · 27/08/2014 14:15

I catch myself saying
'wind' for end up..
eg I won't drive so fast or we'll wind up in the river

and I do say please may I get a coffee Grin

educatingarti · 27/08/2014 14:17

Oh and "pops" of colour in interior design magazines. What is wrong with splashes?

ChaffinchOfMegalolz · 27/08/2014 14:18

and achizz

for stuff.

Look at all of the schizz in the attic.

think it kind of, like, means ''shitty stuff''

Grin
vladthedisorganised · 27/08/2014 14:29

honeypie - I thought 'look at my lit flower' meant she had set a daffodil on fire or something Confused.

I find my local community notice board is rife with weird spellings which must take as much effort to type as the correct version.

Pls need a fava from u luvvley peeps.. do you want Chianti with that?

ExitPursuedByAKoalaBear · 27/08/2014 14:35

What the heck is wrong with eggy bread? What else do you call it?

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 27/08/2014 14:35
LatteLoverLovesLattes · 27/08/2014 14:38

ChaffinchofDoom - I sometimes use 'wind' - I don't see anything wrong with it.

I don't mind, pressies, spag bol, veggies & a few others.

Some of the others I'd do time to eradicate!

With kids - like/literally I just say, try that sentence again - eventually they stop doing it Grin A look is everything or it might be the meat clever??

vixsatis · 27/08/2014 14:39

And

"at all"

as used by BA staff all the time: "can I get anything for yourself at all?"

and "myself" instead of "me" and "yourself" instead of "you"

Nusalembongan · 27/08/2014 14:39

My DC's say things are 'beast' when they are good, don't mind that too much.

Can't abide that nom nom nom thing, my best friend of 30 odd years says it and I feel I may just have to say something soon or we will not be best friends for a further 30 years!

GiveTwoSheets · 27/08/2014 14:41

exit nothing wrong with eggy bread as a 40year old I've always called it that

My pet hate words are sick and moist.

MistressDeeCee · 27/08/2014 14:51

bae = 'before anyone else'...you know, like, literally the one you love above all others. basically

ExitPursuedByAKoalaBear · 27/08/2014 14:52

Thank you give. I am 55 and have always called them eggy bread.

I hate 'tummy'. DH uses it and it makes me want to stab him

Raines100 · 27/08/2014 15:09

Just had to google 'yolo' and 'natch'. I'm 27.

ExitPursuedByAKoalaBear · 27/08/2014 15:11

I always thought natch was an aggressive no.

Kimaroo · 27/08/2014 15:32

I thought natch was naturally. I'd better go and google incase I've made a fool of myself.

somewheresomehow · 27/08/2014 15:37

aciddrops I also can not abide 'gotten' It makes me want to scream

blueshoes · 27/08/2014 15:39

People at work sign off "Best". What's that? I swear that is a made up word.

"Best wishes", "all the best", "best regards"?? Argh

MasqueradeWaltzer · 27/08/2014 15:40

I don't usually mind a neologism, but that thread asking 'what kind of sharent are you' had to be hidden.

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 27/08/2014 16:02

I thought "sharenting" was short for Shit Parenting.

Mintyy · 27/08/2014 16:08

I always use natch as a short version of naturally, only to be used in certain contexts (more like obviously, than naturally).

Mintyy · 27/08/2014 16:09

Grin Keema!

mumtosome61 · 27/08/2014 16:21

I've said this before - Boom. I hate the word BOOM to denote completion of trivial tasks, such as; "Boom! Just finished work for the week"

I also dislike conversations that include excessive use of the word "like" or "literally" or "so".

YOLO and totes/amazeballs/emosh deserve a special place in the annuals of literacy hell.

FabulousFudge · 27/08/2014 17:28

Hubby, Chrimbo, Champers, preggers, soz, my bad...

PhaedraIsMyName · 27/08/2014 17:30

Totes amazeballs is so awful I quite like it.

AlleyCat11 · 27/08/2014 17:36

Best selling author, OP? Is it Marian Keyes, by any chance?
