Sad

You always knew if Robin Williams was in a film it'd be a damn good one. What terribly sad news.

Agggghast · 12/08/2014 07:02

Makes you realise the utter horror of mental illness, so sad that a man who brought so much joy to others died in despair. RIP.

beccajoh · 12/08/2014 07:03

So shocked and sad to hear this. One of my favourite actors. He will be sorely missed.

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclinatio · 12/08/2014 07:13

Oh, how sad. My heart really, really goes out to his wife & all his family & friends. It is hard enough to lose a loved one, but losing them to suicide :(

It is terribly sad that he spent his life making us all laugh (and sometimes cry) yet he battled so many demons. It's heartbreaking that someone who always seemed so genuinely lovely suffered so much.

It's sad that the sitcom he did fairly recently didn't take off, that must have been hard. He was due to film a follow up to Mrs Doubtfire next year - I bet that would have been another sucess.

In film and in life, he will be missed.

Waitingonasunnyday · 12/08/2014 07:18

Poor man. Really liked him. RIP Robin.

StealthPolarBear · 12/08/2014 07:18

How awful, very sad news

MsAspreyDiamonds · 12/08/2014 07:18

How sad. Both dh & I are 80's kids and grew up on a diet of Robin Williams films & Mork & Mindy.

Sleep well Robin, we thank you for the laughter & joy you gave us.

LadyLuck10 · 12/08/2014 07:21

How truly sadSad

Aeroflotgirl · 12/08/2014 07:41

I am shocked, he was a wonderful actor. Mrs Doubtfire, Good Morning Vietnam, Patch Adams the list goes on. My thoughts are with his family Sad

KnackeredMuchly · 12/08/2014 07:52

From his daughter Zelda Rae Williams

Quoting Antoine De Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince,” she tweeted, “You – you alone will have the stars as no one else has them…In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night…You – only you – will have stars that laugh.”

PaMaci · 12/08/2014 08:12

"What's right is what's left if you do everything else wrong."

Robin Williams.
RIP.

hazeyjane · 12/08/2014 08:28

Oh Knackered, I wrote that quote in the card when my dear friend died 2 years ago, her dd still points to the stars and tells me which one her mummy lives in.

I don't often feel connected when celebrities die, but hearing the news about Robin Williams just made me burst into tears. Part of my growing up, Mork was probably my first love (!) and The Fisher King is one of my all time favourite films.

There's three things in this world that you need: Respect for all kinds of life, a nice bowel movement on a regular basis, and a navy blazer. (the fisher king)

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/08/2014 08:36

Incredibly sad. Such a wonderful, talented man, can't imagine how he must have felt.

FrankelandFilly · 12/08/2014 08:41

Manic depression and comedic genius often seem to go hand in hand, look at Spike. Milligan.

Hook was one of my favourite films growing up Sad

Rest in Peace

Hippomammy · 12/08/2014 08:41

Orsen called Mork and Mork went home Sad
RIP Robin, you filled my childhood with laughs!

YouTheCat · 12/08/2014 08:43

I never do the whole 'sad a celeb has died' thing. But this is just so sad.

Mork has gone to Orsen. Nanu nanu and shazbat. Sad

FrankelandFilly · 12/08/2014 08:44

Put Radio 2 on right now. They're playing one of his songs from Aladdin Smile
