to want to still be able to buy talcum powder

... especially in this heat! It's so handy if you want to prevent sweaty chafing! Grin I used to always put it on after shaving armpits etc to prevent horrible heat rash.
So went to get some and it's disappeared from the shops. When did that happen? ?. I guess they only stock it for grannies at Christmas now?
And while we're at it - can anyone recommend an anti perspirant that does what it says on the tin?? I bought a men's one for mysefl to try and cope with this heat - no good. I have a big underarm problem - not all over, thank goodness - just armpits Blush

Tesco sell talc

Have you tried Mitchum? That's as good as I've found for sweaty pits.

Azquilith · 25/07/2014 22:19

My DP gets his from Boots, uses it for sweaty bollocks (tmi)

PeoplesFrontOfJudea · 25/07/2014 22:20

What's up with Baby Powder?

thenightsky · 25/07/2014 22:20

Cuticura is still available in Boots. I like the Femfresh talc-free talc.

newfavouritething · 25/07/2014 22:22

Ditch the anti-perspirant. Sweating will cool you, Pitrok will stop any whiffy pits, and after a few days you'll sweat less anyway. Win win. And it lasts forever.

springlamb · 25/07/2014 22:22

Same here.
Unless you want the red Imperial Leather which is really for men, the only one you can get in Tesco is Cuticura now. Aside of course from baby powder.
Marks still do scented talcs, and I live near a Marks outlet so I stock up in there, especially at Xmas.
Used to be able to get a posh proper perfume one with a lovely puff for 'those special evenings' but they're few and far between now.

drivingmisspotty · 25/07/2014 22:23

Pretty sure Mitcham do a talcum powder scented anti perspirant Smile But I still see plenty of baby powder in shops.

kitnkaboodle · 25/07/2014 22:23

Hey - baby powder! I never thought of that - der! And cuticura still exists? ? Heaven! Hard to find in our rural neck of the woods tho!

I've never seen the Femfresh one.
Can you use it anywhere or just down below?

7to25 · 25/07/2014 22:24

Bought some from Marks and have been using it. I thought it would languish but no; loving it.

Bardette · 25/07/2014 22:25

I second Mitchum, it's great.

springlamb · 25/07/2014 22:25

Yuck baby powder. Smells lovely on babies but on a grown woman...

kitnkaboodle · 25/07/2014 22:27

I don't want to sweat and have huge embarrassing sweat patches all the time! Not so bad now, but last term I was doing regular activities with kids in primary schools with rank sweaty underarms . Surw thet noticed Blush

I find that medipure talc free body powder is better as it doesn't clump and stick - if you have a Bodycare or a Home Bargains near you it's only about £1

Mitchum is FANTASTIC.

cerealqueen · 25/07/2014 22:29

DD1 uses talc after swimming, she loves it!

You could use cornstarch/ powder ( that is what talc free talc is) in a flour dredger if desperate?

Oldraver · 25/07/2014 22:33

I use the Femfresh one, its with the sanitary products in Boots.

Its talc free, there used to be some other corn starch variety but havn't seen it around.

I use it anywhere but my fanny well sometimes the top of my legs

Flipflops7 · 25/07/2014 22:34

Boots Medicated is good.

Silky underwear is lovely. Not tried nivea but i imagine that smells all clean and cottony might have to get that

thegreylady · 25/07/2014 22:41

I use baby powder all the time under my boobs especially.

Alicebannedit · 25/07/2014 22:43

You can get Imperial Leather in our Boots and I checked Tesco online yesterday as snooty pharmacist in local store said there was only baby talc available, and then when she began to tell me there was no demand for other talc these days I walked off before I said something rude..... Have half a mind to go back and tell her that online, at least, Tesco do sell both Cuticura and Imperial Leather.

17leftfeet · 25/07/2014 22:45

For under your arms try driclor -available in boots

You apply it at night then wash it off in the morning -it can be a bit stingy but if you can put up with that it works a treat -no more sweaty pits Grin
