To think that at a buffet you can take as much as you want

Went out today with dsis. We were starving by lunchtime and there was a huge buffet where we went (hotel), it was included in the price so we took loads as were hungry.
Noticed a couple of women really staring as we loaded our plates up and also when we took lots of the mini desserts and as we walked past one loudly said " I can't believe they are actually going to eat all that"
They kept staring at us and giving us funny looks.

Made me wonder if we really did take too much, surely as we had paid and were hungry it was ok ? I felt a bit judged as they clearly thought we were greedy

I knew that this thread would run and run.

Anyone else wish that there as a mumsnet facility for some threads to be closed?

Beautifullymixed · 21/07/2014 19:12

bogqueen weren't you the one who compared her to a pig at the trough?

That's not answering a polite question from the OP.

Not in my book.

firesidechat · 21/07/2014 19:16

In fact Beautifullymixed I think you've had a go at the wrong person on here and I'm a bit pissed off now.

Have a go at the ones who called her greedy if you like (it's a free forum) but I would rather you didn't specifically name me when I haven't called her any such thing.

TheBogQueen · 21/07/2014 19:32

Er...no Hmm

TheBogQueen · 21/07/2014 19:33

But, you know, feel free to come out with whatever shite occurs to you

Beautifullymixed · 21/07/2014 21:20

Humble apologies BOG Thanks

That wasn't you making that comment upthread.
I got my 'b's mixed up Blush

Please accept my sincere apologies and I will make sure I check in future.

Didn't think this thread would still be going!

I'm afraid I can't clarify the 'all you can eat' question as I don't know. It was never stated it was an all you can eat buffet and was just a 'buffet lunch' as part of a spa day package at a hotel.

You went on a spa day and were offered creme brulee for lunch??? I've only ever seen superfoods, salad, seaweed and smoothies, in all configurations. And eggs, whites only obvs.

LeonardWentToTheOffice · 22/07/2014 00:17

I never notice the looks from other tables as I make my way back from the buffet. I've got a particular... what I'd call prance I know I do as I walk to my seat. A kind of 'I've got tons of food and I'm damn well going to enjoy it' prance. Totally self absorbed. I do eat it all :-) I

I completely misread that the first time I read it.
