to think "my pool, my rules"

We have a swimming pool in the garden. The garden has high fences and is not overlooked. When I have guests I will wear both halves of a bikini, when I am alone, I am happy to leave the top off and sometimes not to bother at all. My attitude is "my pool, my rules" and as long as I am not subjecting anyone else to my attire or lack of it to think that this is my business. Besides, I hate the feel of a wet swimming costume if I can avoid it.

Yeah you do seem to have a hard on about pools. They aren't something to envy in this country tbh.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 18/07/2014 21:09

Sienna Bikini Troll? Is this a new thang?

LuisSuarezTeeth · 18/07/2014 21:10

Anyway OP what's your beef?

Staywithme · 18/07/2014 21:11

Unless your fanny is sucking up the pool water like mine does in the bath and depositing it on the floor of waitrose then YANBU.

Hahahah, I nearly fell of my yacht at that! The boy fetching my drink was most confused.

All joking aside I grew up with a pool in the garden and I'm 45 so big deal. though I've only tiny titties and they're still saggy, so you got me on that

FeministStar · 18/07/2014 21:12

I can understand why the OP goes nude, sootikins can be hard to wash out after all.

fluffyraggies · 18/07/2014 21:12

My parents friends had a huge and beautifully under-lit outdoor pool. She used to swim in it naked and no one turned a hair. This was in Bucks, England.

My best and oldest mate had a less glam pool - but a pool all the same. We'd skinny dip in it when the kids were in bed. Twickenham, England.

I've skniny dipped in the sea in Dorset. And in the Thames.

Conclusion - no big deal.

Staywithme · 18/07/2014 21:13

Is this a new thang?

luis

Might be a new thong. Smile

KissMyFatArse · 18/07/2014 21:18

Thank god you told me that!!!

I was positively struggling to sleep on my mattress on the floor worried about what the 'other half' wear in their own pools.

That has made me all warm inside with contentment. Just as well as we've no heating....

LuisSuarezTeeth · 18/07/2014 21:22

New thong, obvs...

Oh, and fanny sucking up pool water. Oh dear. I thought that was just me Blush

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 18/07/2014 21:23

I grew up in the US but now in UK and sense that attitudes toward such things are slightly different in UK

Don't understand your points at all OP.

Attitudes towards what?
Having a pool? you're in the minority round here if you don't have one
Keeping covered when in company? not so strange
Full Monty when alone? not strange either

What are we meant to be responding to please?

WorraLiberty · 18/07/2014 21:25

Ok so you've got a swimming pool

Thanks for telling us that. I'm not sure any of us would have slept without this info Grin

iklboo · 18/07/2014 21:29

Ok so you've got a swimming pool

Anyone else now singing 'That don't impress me much'?

JoeyMaynardsghost · 18/07/2014 21:31

kissmy

You have a mattress to sleep on? Envy I have only the box that someone's blow up paddling pool came in and they dumped it by the road.

ikeaismylocal · 18/07/2014 21:34

Are you Kate Middleton? Are you expecting anyone to notice give a shit?

My dp changes at our communal pool without hiding anything, full frontal male nudity, I think it's a but odd but he says it's normal where we live, lots of the kids swim nude you'd fit right in!

DoYouThinkSheSawUs · 18/07/2014 21:35

.... I just want to know what happened in that other thread where the neighbour kept using the ops pool without asking.

Don't actually give a stuff what you wear in your pool. When I lived elsewhere and used to regularly use a friends pool I used to wear a cossie, while she sometimes skinny dipped. They used to keep a basket of clean costumes for people to borrow. Now that's class :)

samsam123 · 18/07/2014 21:37

stop boasting - in my paddling pool I wear nothing

WorraLiberty · 18/07/2014 21:40

I wore nothing in my bath tonight

Proper naturist, that's me.

Blu · 18/07/2014 21:40

I always wondered why anyone would wear anything to swim in private, but then I tried it and kept glimpsing my own norks. Blush

I have never been so mortified. I rushed into the pool house hoping that I wouldn't see my own muff on the way and luckily managed to get my burka over my head without seeing my own belly button.

Ever since, I have barely managed to look in the mirror to put my mascara on. I just can't face mysel. I just look at my reflection and think 'you've seen my tits'

Never again.

Nicola19 · 18/07/2014 21:41

Where's the OP? She must be outside doing some evening swimming.

bellarations · 18/07/2014 21:43

So glad to hear you have pool!
What Wonderful news.

Blu · 18/07/2014 21:46

For Cristmas DP bought me one of those electric foot spas, from Argos . Sometimes I take my tights off when I use that Blush

ThePinkOcelot · 18/07/2014 21:52

Still wondering what the AIBU is!! So, who gives a fuck?!

WaitMonkey · 18/07/2014 21:53

I loved that neighbour/pool thread. Grin Grin

WorraLiberty · 18/07/2014 21:55

Fair enough Blu but you could have waited til you left the shop

HavantGuard · 18/07/2014 22:00

You need a proper filtration system for nude swimming in an outdoor pool. Otherwise you risk vacuuming up drowned insects with your vagina.
