To want to set the record straight about the Cedar Falls Nurse In

Mamagiraffe · 14/07/2014 13:27

I am organising the peaceful protest OUTSIDE THE GATES of Cedar Falls. The protest is not taking place because Victoria tried to take an under 16 to an age-restricted place expecting special treatment it is because the spa have cancelled her booking rather than allowing her to make alternative arrangements. Whatever has happened in the past is immaterial and I am horrified by the muck-raking and bullying instigated here last night. I, personally, do not condone the online attack on their Facebook page but that is of course up to the individual., I have also requested members of the event to remove any they may have already posted but I have no power to do so. For those who are uninformed breastfeeding at 1 is not only recommended but it aids nutrition, soothing and attachment- for Victoria's child they may or may not have required a feed during this weekend but provision needed to be in place to facilitate this and it would be unfair for the child not to ensure this is possible, this does not mean that a nursing mother must be sequestered away from living a normal adult life for the duration. The rights regarding discrimination is to protect the right of the breastfeeding mother to do so. I won't be returning here to fight the fight but as MNHQ deleted the last thread I have had to start my own to give you my own twopence'th if anybody wants to contact us for more information the email address is [email protected]

Vanessa, not press but on various FB pages

toriap2 · 14/07/2014 14:54

The nurse in page has gone poof after lots of bullying and nastiness by the complainer and her family and friends.

HaroldsBishop Grin Grin Grin Grin

HauntedNoddyCar · 14/07/2014 14:55

"as was my wife" :) :)

VanessaShanesa · 14/07/2014 14:56

I see that on the CF facebook page, among the reviews, the child in question has actually got younger and is newborn again! Wow! That's some health spa!

Anarchy99 · 14/07/2014 14:56

And why is MR sparkly fanjo pad having to come here and defend her?

Pumpkinpositive · 14/07/2014 14:56

People also seem to be under the impression that Victoria started a level of online witch hunt against the venue. We had no intention of anything going up onto open social media at all, especially not until we had achieved a much clearer understanding of our legal position.

I could have sworn I saw her moaning about it on her company FB page. Ditto the John Lewis complaint. Hmm

Highly unprofessional.

TheFairyCaravan · 14/07/2014 14:57

The nurse in page got pulled after they told anyone who didn't support them they wereN't welcome! Grin

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 14/07/2014 14:57

Vanessa
They have a fountain of youth there? Bloody hell, I'm booking right now!

AgaPanthers · 14/07/2014 14:58

:( I want to laugh at them.

SauvignonBlanche · 14/07/2014 14:58

I want to see the sparkly Fanjo pad page!!

VanessaShanesa · 14/07/2014 14:58

Me too Chaz. I'm taking the kids too. They're 11 and 12 but I did so enjoy them as toddlers.

Nicknacky · 14/07/2014 14:58

Vanessa, where is that post? I can't see it.

toriap2 · 14/07/2014 14:59

I wasn't welcome there because I told them all to calm down and get a grip

stephenisjustcoming · 14/07/2014 14:59

Ah, lovely. Whenever I see the word 'advised' repeatedly used where a simple 'said' or 'told us' would do, I rub my hands and settle in for a veritable Northern Lights display of petulant outrage. Let the 'myself' showers commence!

diddl · 14/07/2014 15:01

"especially not until we had achieved a much clearer understanding of our legal position."

About a freebie that her mum won??!!

VanessaShanesa · 14/07/2014 15:02

Yesterday at 10.17 Nick. Someone called Stephanie absolutely appalled that the newborn wasn't allowed to be brought in occasionally to breast feed.

EveDallasRetd · 14/07/2014 15:02

...and the NHS complaint on the Armadillo page.

Mr Victoria, your wife and to a lesser extent your Mil and Fil are making your family look like moaning fools. I also second the suggestion that the 'broken rules' were more to do with your wife's online business presence.

sashh · 14/07/2014 15:02

diddle

Don't most competitions allow the prize giver to not offer an alternative if the original prize is unsuitable?

AgaPanthers · 14/07/2014 15:02

Diddl, technically she hadn't even won it, because the competition was conditional on getting 10,000 likes before the end of May.

Which they didn't get. So there was no consideration whatsoever for the price. It was pure goodwill.

VanessaShanesa · 14/07/2014 15:02

Unless she's referring to a different newborn.

wanttosinglikemarycoughlan · 14/07/2014 15:02

I think the poor receptionist was so taken aback that someone would ask to take a baby into the spa that they didn't give a clear answer
She must have thought at that stage 'done deal' she can sneak the kid in for the duration
I would honestly be horrified to find children at a spa. There are lots of family places

enormouse · 14/07/2014 15:04

What's the nhs complaint about Eve?

MonstersBalls · 14/07/2014 15:05

Wow I don't understand all the vitriol on this thread. I didn't see the fb page but surely the venue is being unreasonable in cancelling the booking without explanation?

There seems to be a lot of conjecture on how the op responded to this but no-one actually knows. Sorry to spoil the funBlush

adsy · 14/07/2014 15:06

. There also seem to have been people under the impression that they then spent 24 hours elsewhere without ever feeding. This is also not true. I brought our child to the venue in time for his bedtime feed and indeed he stayed the night there, and I came and collected him in the morning.
I dont understand. Did they go in the end and sneak the child in for the night or is this a different occassion?
