To want to set the record straight about the Cedar Falls Nurse In

Mamagiraffe · 14/07/2014 13:27

I am organising the peaceful protest OUTSIDE THE GATES of Cedar Falls. The protest is not taking place because Victoria tried to take an under 16 to an age-restricted place expecting special treatment it is because the spa have cancelled her booking rather than allowing her to make alternative arrangements. Whatever has happened in the past is immaterial and I am horrified by the muck-raking and bullying instigated here last night. I, personally, do not condone the online attack on their Facebook page but that is of course up to the individual., I have also requested members of the event to remove any they may have already posted but I have no power to do so. For those who are uninformed breastfeeding at 1 is not only recommended but it aids nutrition, soothing and attachment- for Victoria's child they may or may not have required a feed during this weekend but provision needed to be in place to facilitate this and it would be unfair for the child not to ensure this is possible, this does not mean that a nursing mother must be sequestered away from living a normal adult life for the duration. The rights regarding discrimination is to protect the right of the breastfeeding mother to do so. I won't be returning here to fight the fight but as MNHQ deleted the last thread I have had to start my own to give you my own twopence'th if anybody wants to contact us for more information the email address is [email protected]

Well whoever told her that she could use a room was wrong & that's unfortunate.

But at the end of the day I would have thought yes, you can accept a prize as offered or lose out tbh.

Especially if it's not even your prize!

But can't see why the mum ended up getting sniffy-surely she could have taken someone else?

MarmaladeShatkins · 14/07/2014 15:06

LOL at legal position.

Usually, there is a disclaimer in prize small-print that says that the management can withdraw the prize at any time without needing to give a reason. Do ask your wife to check up on that before you shame yourselves any more by contacting a solicitors.

Poor Cedar Falls. I bet whomever picked her name out of the hat is having their P45 written out as we speak! Grin

ballsballsballs · 14/07/2014 15:07

It's very U for the complainant's supporters to insist a negative thread is pulled, then start one in her defence.

It's also very U indeed to attempt to rewrite history. Facebook keep all their messages for several years.

"I bet whomever picked her name out of the hat is having their P45 written out as we speak! "

Or being promoted due to the publicity!

MonsterBalls- I am sure you would think differently if you had seen the FB page.

sashh · 14/07/2014 15:08

I dont understand. Did they go in the end and sneak the child in for the night or is this a different occassion

Different occasion, different adult only place

GiveTwoSheets · 14/07/2014 15:09

It wasnt just fb witch hunt it on twitter too

seagull70 · 14/07/2014 15:10

TheOther12

Thank you for giving your side of the events.

Would you not agree then that this is a customer service/communication issue and NOT a discrimination issue?

Your version events seems to back that up?

MarmaladeShatkins · 14/07/2014 15:10

True, diddl, true.

I want to go now. It sounds bliss!

Pumpkinpositive · 14/07/2014 15:11

Poor Cedar Falls. I bet whomever picked her name out of the hat is having their P45 written out as we speak!

And not even her name at that. Her mother's. Hmm

Well, no doubt that's the last freebie weekend Cedar Falls puts up for grabs.

diddl · 14/07/2014 15:11

From the OP " it is because the spa have cancelled her booking"

No, they didn't!

She never booked anything, her mum won a comp.

Or maybe not as the conditions weren't reached.

LittlePeaPod · 14/07/2014 15:11

Where has Mr Victoria disappeared to?

Regarding the OP of this thread, it's all about whether your rights trump anyone else's - the same sort of issue as the Fathers Staying Overnight thread.

Yes, your baby may need feeding, but I have booked an expensive spa day to escape stresses and strains and do not want to be disturbed by either a crying baby/pram + paraphernalia/possibly smug mother/cooing relatives etc etc.

Furthermore, a tiny baby - not so bad (although new baby in spa? why?) but I breastfed my dcs until they were about 18 months old. Who the hell wants to share a spa day with toddlers? And other people's toddlers would make me walk straight out.

TheFairyCaravan · 14/07/2014 15:13

I was just about to ask that LittlePeaPod!

VanessaShanesa · 14/07/2014 15:14

This'll be a topic on The Wright Stuff before the week is out. I'd put money on it.

diddl · 14/07/2014 15:14

Well I know that bfeeding is best & all, but I'm pretty certain my husband wouldn't have trkked around bringing me baby so that I could be away & feed.

He'd have given ebm somehow.

Have Mr and Mrs sparkly fanjo pads gone to practice their sad faces in readiness for the scandalous expose?

AgaPanthers · 14/07/2014 15:16

I can't believe this isn't in the DM yet. They'd lap it up.

LittlePeaPod · 14/07/2014 15:17

It says a lot when DM can't even be arsed with it yet!
