To want to set the record straight about the Cedar Falls Nurse In

I am organising the peaceful protest OUTSIDE THE GATES of Cedar Falls. The protest is not taking place because Victoria tried to take an under 16 to an age-restricted place expecting special treatment it is because the spa have cancelled her booking rather than allowing her to make alternative arrangements. Whatever has happened in the past is immaterial and I am horrified by the muck-raking and bullying instigated here last night. I, personally, do not condone the online attack on their Facebook page but that is of course up to the individual., I have also requested members of the event to remove any they may have already posted but I have no power to do so. For those who are uninformed breastfeeding at 1 is not only recommended but it aids nutrition, soothing and attachment- for Victoria's child they may or may not have required a feed during this weekend but provision needed to be in place to facilitate this and it would be unfair for the child not to ensure this is possible, this does not mean that a nursing mother must be sequestered away from living a normal adult life for the duration. The rights regarding discrimination is to protect the right of the breastfeeding mother to do so. I won't be returning here to fight the fight but as MNHQ deleted the last thread I have had to start my own to give you my own twopence'th if anybody wants to contact us for more information the email address is [email protected]

Well, I have news for you. Opinions on MN are also up to the individual and it appears the majority think you and your merry band of warriors are fools! You state that Cedarfalls came across as expecting the woman to be shut away from a normal adult life. The last time I went to a spa was two years ago. Many women have never been to one. That is not normal adult life, that is a treat. Fight the battles for those who cannot BF in a cafe or somewhere that is everyday life but teach your cronies that, if they want to fight everyone about their right to BF they are making nursing mothers a laughing stock. This woman could have organised a meal or a shopping trip with her mother (I think it was a girly mum and daughter trip that started this nonsense). But oh no. She decides the rule about adults only applies to everyone else. Well, when I go to a grown up spa I want to see grown ups not an immature mother and a kid who will obviously forget what she looks like if she dares to stop the boob for one night! Ridiculous.

I am very sad about the damage that this whole affair, and this ill advised protest will do to the reputation of breast feeders if it gets made more public.

Most of us are normal people, wanting to feed our babies where the law allows.

Not in an adult only environment. Not in a health and safety restricted environment, not anywhere physically possibly just to prove a point.

People like the OP and VL wreck it for everyone else. I hope they think about that before going down this road. The only thing which will silence some of their supporters now will be a request from one of the two to make this go away. I hope they have the decency to do so.

Because their facebook page is where it happened. If they haven't even acknowledged it on there or done any updates unrelated to this, it seems strange. Plus anyone can name change for shits and giggles.
