Just received invite to a wedding which is taking place on a Tuesday night. It says "please stay at the reception as late as possible".

Yes, never mind the fact that we are all taking the day off work to come already. It's not like we have to work on Wednesday or anything.

Oh and of course there was a request for cash.

This will be our 6th wedding this year - it's wearing thin!

AIBU to think this is a cheeky request?

oooh i would have loved garden bulbs. Every year when they came up i would be reminded. I think that's such a lovely idea :)

I get a bit grumpy at people who make no mention of presents - I like to get the B&G something, so they end up with a bottle of champagne or something anyway.

I have no problem with suggesting money as a wedding gift, did it myself (without the assistance of poetry), but it is nicer to pick something from a gift list.

However, expecting people to stay late to a Tuesday wedding is crazy and unrealistic. Bride sounds pretty princessy though. Definitely worth attending as she'll almost certainly be mad on the day.
