ZOMBIE THREAD PEOPLE - the OP has posted since it reanimated a month ago and said it didn't work out for her, so take it easy on her please!

SoleSource · 04/01/2016 22:43

No not at all.

SoleSource · 04/01/2016 22:44

Oops

Postchildrenpregranny · 02/03/2016 17:04

35 and 39 me
The only problem was their still being at uni when I was on the brink of retiring
But I suppose you poor souls will be working beyond 60 anyway

Littlecatbigpanther · 02/03/2016 17:06

No not too old!

Maudofallhopefulness · 02/03/2016 18:19

Don't worry Postchildren, the retirement age will change to 80 soon. We'll all still be working hard.

34 and 38 here. 35 is not too old at all. Not particularly easy to conceive though hence the age gap.

Maudofallhopefulness · 02/03/2016 18:33

Ugh, bastard zombies.

originalmavis · 02/03/2016 18:35

I had my first about then. Mum had her many-th baby at that age (and was not impressed that the doctor called her a 'geriatric morher'). I imagine she bit him.

Jelliebabe1 · 02/03/2016 18:37

Nope had my first at 41 last year ... Hoping for another too. I'll probably be 43 by then!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 02/03/2016 18:42

I barely know anyone who even started before 35!! I had my first at 36. Absolutely the right time for me.

shutupandshop · 02/03/2016 18:45

For me personally yes but as had first dc at 23, didn't want to go on forevet, had dc4 at 34.

PutDownThatLaptop · 02/03/2016 18:46

I had one at 22, one at 26 and one at 36. I felt older with the last one but only because my older children were 9 and 13 by then.

nevertakeyouriphoneinthebath · 02/03/2016 18:47

YABU. 35 is fine. 40 is pushing it. 45 is far, far too old.

jamhot · 02/03/2016 18:48

Zombie thread!

Phalenopsisgirl · 02/03/2016 18:53

I thought this too, probably because I had my first at 24 so by the time I hit 35 I felt ancient and like I had left things too late for a second, however, 35 really is no age at all. Many of my friends are/were only just starting families at this age, my neighbour had her ds at 46.

Murphyslaw21 · 02/03/2016 18:58

Nope first one 37 planning on at least another

sleeponeday · 02/03/2016 19:01

First at 34, 2nd at 40. Wouldn't have wanted them earlier, because money, maturity and patience all help a lot. Our own childhoods were, um, challenging, and we're able to make that very different for our two.

Your DH is being unreasonable. 35 is fine. Though if he is just all done with babies, that's not unreasonable - parenthood is hard work, and you both need to be on board I think.

Owllady · 02/03/2016 19:01

It doesn't matter what age you are as long as you are a good mother :)
I find being open minded helps with that too! Helps you be a better person overall too

deste · 02/03/2016 19:02

I was 36 and it was perfect. Mind you she was an amazing baby who slept all the time.

TheEmmaDilemma · 02/03/2016 19:03

I was 33 when I had DD. I am 36 now and wouldn't consider my age a barrier to having another baby just my sanity

TheoriginalLEM · 02/03/2016 19:15

I had DD2 at 35 and those were practically the exact words i said to my midwife! She laughed - i was one of the youngest mums at the ante-natal class Grin

Go for it

RockUnit · 02/03/2016 19:15

When humans first existed they'd have had a far shorter lifespan, so presumably women had periods right up until the end of their life?
