To want two marshmallows at m&s

Coffee with dsx2 on Friday. Choose m&s as they 'do the coffee with the marshmallows mum!!! '

One boy wants Percy Pig juice, so ask if we might have two marshmallows with other boys babychino to avoid world war three.

Am told we have a new policy of only one marshmallow. No apology, no smile, nada!

It was only a mini marshmallow too! Is this the pinnacle of un-child friendly. Or AIBU?

I would have gladly swapped my mini hobnob for a marshmallow if I had to trade. We had even bought cake as well. May be I should move on...

Go to costa instead, they are more reasonable with mallow distribution.

Thumbwitch · 30/06/2014 15:52

Percy pig juice sounds 'orrible.
Peppa Pig juice though - that's something I could get behind if it was indeed made of squeezed Peppa Pig oh how I hate Peppa pig and her crybaby brother

Hoppinggreen · 30/06/2014 15:55

Maybe George cries so much due to uneven marshmallow distribution policies!!!

stephenisjustcoming · 30/06/2014 16:04

Although, given the gelatine content of the marshmallow, you could argue that it's Percy Pig juice in solid form...

NickiFury · 30/06/2014 16:08

Gelatine in Percy Pigs too. Couldn't you have explained that to the marshmallow-less child OP? That essentially he was eating the same thing but in a different form?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 30/06/2014 16:09

Anyone envisage "marshmellows" as bring quite hippyish, sitting lotuslike, sprinkling PeaceAndLoveMan over babyccinos nationwide?

Thumbwitch · 30/06/2014 16:19

I do now, Chaos! Grin And, blast you, I have that "Mellow Yellow" tune going through my bloody head now. Grrrr!

SistersOfPercy · 30/06/2014 16:21

Oh yes, the Costa thread. Marshmallows are deadly Grin

Ooooh I've still got my photo shopped pic of dd from that thread. I loved it so much.

Hang on....

Thumbwitch · 30/06/2014 16:31

Is the thread still there? Can someone link to it please? I wish to be Entertained. Grin

SistersOfPercy · 30/06/2014 16:32

I think I deleted the one with your DD in it honey but I noticed that one when I had a clear out in a folder the other week and kept it for posterity.

HoneyDragon · 30/06/2014 16:32

I can't find it Thumb Sad must of been in chat

Thumbwitch · 30/06/2014 16:35

:( [pouts]

HoneyDragon · 30/06/2014 16:36

I am unreasonably scared by those pics, Honey - were they designed to convey the menace of the marshmallow to small children?

SistersOfPercy · 30/06/2014 16:45

Thumb, it was in Chat. The OP was complaining that Costa put big scary marshmallows in babycinos and they wanted them banned immediately. Grin

It's fair to say I need a hobby.....

Yes. The op was very firm about the evil child hating nature of marshmallows that could thwart parents ability to say NO!

In fact the good thing about the thread is some people didn't know that Marshmallows were a dangerous choking hazard, which is a good thing. But the op wanted them removed from Costa altogether lest parents (of very wee ones) could not say not say no.

Who knew she'd be vindicated and one day a poster who could not say no to marshmallows would turn up?

[guilty face]

SistersOfPercy · 30/06/2014 16:52

I wish these marshmallow threads would stop cropping really up because I invariably end up craving a chococcino and find the marshmallows I have in the cupboard are hard enough to put windows through Sad

HoneyDragon · 30/06/2014 16:53

Grin Percy

Thumbwitch · 30/06/2014 16:59

at rock hard marshmallows - can't you toast them on the gas hob? Or do you not have a gas hob?

Loving the photoshopping, btw! Grin

kali110 · 30/06/2014 17:03

Yabu. If it's their policy it's their policy. Who knows how many customers want an extra marshmallow? Then customers moan when they run out.
Why didn't you just explain that the juice didn't come with a marshmallow?

kali110 · 30/06/2014 17:03

That costa thread was the funniest thing ever

SistersOfPercy · 30/06/2014 17:05

All electric here Thumb, although if I thought I could revive a couple I'd sit with one under the gas match for 5 Wink
I feel a Tesco trip coming on later...

thepurplepenguin · 30/06/2014 17:08

Lordy in our M&S it takes an awful lot to stop the staff from ladling out marshmallows and biscuits to every child in sight.

Sizzlesthedog · 30/06/2014 18:31

I wouldn't eat a marshmallow. They are blerghhh.

However I can't decide if YABU. My dc have no concept of babycino or marshmallows. Why not buy them all a cake and be done with it.
