Apparently bit an Italian player.

First Ajax, then Ivanovic now this.

Surely he shouldn't be allowed to play for his country if he is capable of doing this again?

yes, it's daft, but that's how it works!

Maybe there will be a backlash. Then Spain can have him and they can all tell Luisito how much they love him. Wonder how long it would be before he bites a Spanish player?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/06/2014 15:40

He needs to be banned from playing football at any level. I might allow him a kick-about in the park, but that's all.

DenzelWashington · 26/06/2014 15:46

Initially I thought he did it as a cunning plan to get the bitee to elbow him and then be sent off. Now I think he's just Weirdy Bitey Man.

I know biting people on the football pitch is awful, but it would be even worse off the pitch (because the victims wouldn't be other strong athletes who could shove him off easily). You don't think he bites his family members, do you?

Fullpleatherjacket · 26/06/2014 16:52

I have every expectation that he will survive this and it will be swept under the carpet yet again

Four month/nine match ban?

I rest my case.

WitchWay · 26/06/2014 16:58

He's been fined about 5 minutes' salary too - woo hoo!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 26/06/2014 17:03

I hope (probably in vain) that they have told him this is his last chance. One more bite and bye-bye football career.

Onesleeptillwembley · 26/06/2014 17:40

I can't believe there's just been a Liverpool fan whining on the tv. The club chose to keep him after the last incident. The one to take it up with is Suarez. He's the one letting the club down.
I personally couldn't support a player like that, whether he's a great Mayer or not.

"Suarez" is a swear word in our household and any mention of it will result in severe punishment.

DS2 age 7 still thinks he is a great footballer though.

I think he's a huge twat.

He's got off lightly, we all know it. I had hoped FIFA would have shown more balls.

MyFairyKing · 27/06/2014 10:33

If your average Joe Bloggs did that in a friendly footie match at a local sports club, it'd be assault and there'd be no debate.

DenzelWashington · 27/06/2014 11:58

I feel the same way about this as I did about the Zidane headbutt in the World Cup Final. Get a copper on the pitch to arrest them for assault. No reason why footballers should be exempt from the criminal law on the field of play.

And I suspect even a couple of hours in a Brazilian jail post-arrest is a more effective deterrent even to a tough bloke like Suarez than being fined a week's wages and told he can't play for a bit.

I sincerely hope that if we ever host the World Cup again (not that I'm wishing for that to happen) we would send a pretty clear message to all comers that criminal acts in the stadium or on the pitch would land you in court, pronto.

Yes, it is all a big conspiracy and poor Luisito is being victimised.

What chance has that man got to get his head together when his entire country is telling him he's done nothing bad and in fact, is the wronged party? It's ridiculous.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/06/2014 12:13

Yes - spot on, Sinister!

WildThong · 27/06/2014 13:57

"Like a dog" eh? That is quite an analogy from his granny.
A dog that repeatedly bites is put down, therefore he got off lightly.

Monty27 · 28/06/2014 02:47

Indeed!

usualnamechanger · 28/06/2014 03:05

the word 'negrito' o 'negro' is not racist in Spanish, but it seems Suárez wasn't being nice to the other player.

I have a Plan! Suarez has to have all his teeth removed, and is given a set of dentures, but he's not allowed to wear his dentures when he plays - then the worst he can do is give someone a nasty gumming!

MajesticWhine · 28/06/2014 23:12

I just love that his Granny has come out in support of him. Absolutely hilarious.

Toadinthehole · 29/06/2014 07:38

Did she come out at night?

fascicle · 29/06/2014 09:57

It's very easy to condemn Suarez and his behaviour.
