For me, it's watching washing on the line. DH thinks i'm a loon.

There's just something about watching clean washing blowing in the breeze that fills me with a sense of general wellbeing. If i'm stressed or grumpy, it instantly makes me feel better. I don't know why.

What is it for you?

Am finding this thread quite inspirational actually and hope people keep posting.

Lying on my bed with the radio on and looking at the clouds.
When a plant flowers in my garden for the first time in summer.
First cup of fresh coffee when I get to work
Reading to my dd
Putting on my favourite body lotion after a shower
The feeling after a workout

Browsing in bookshops
Reading in bed at night
Reading the newspaper and having a cup of tea
Long walks with dh and dc
Regents Park
Settling down to watch a film that I've been looking forward to
Watching dcs playing in the garden
Poetry

Getting the boots on and setting off on a lovely long walk in the Peak District

Lunch or dinner out with my husband and wonderful, grown up children, talking and laughing.

Meeting up with old friends I've known since schooldays and feeling the years melt away.

The first smoky nights in autumn, when you feel the year beginning to draw to a close.

Christmas eve, watching our traditional film together as a family.

Seeing my son or daughter smile.

things being 'in order':

tidy and clean house
3 content children, all at the same time (a rarity!)
washing on the line
getting out for a run
fresh coffee
sitting in a coffee shop with my husband minus children

deepbluetr · 23/06/2014 07:05

Exercise.

By a long shot. Going to the gym 5 times a week means I can run up stairs two at a time, fit into size 10 jeans and have a flat stomach.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 23/06/2014 07:33

A tidy, clean house.
Sunday afternoon, relaxing after lunch.
Days out with DS.
A new book.

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 23/06/2014 07:51

a nice full box of Sertraline Wink

but really though, I love a tidy living space and no housework to do. Also, the feeling you get after exercising.

finishing work on a friday, having a clean tidy house, food delivered and put away, clean sheets all ironed and smelling of sunshine, all the washing done, and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. Having a shower, putting on clean clothes then sitting on the patio with a glass of the wine.... bliss

RonSwansonsLushMoustache · 23/06/2014 10:45

I feel relaxed and happy after a night out with DH. We don't do it often and I can feel the effect for a couple of days after. Must be the endorphins or something.

Summer. My birthday usually falls around the summer solstice. I was born to sit outside in teeny shorts after cleaning the house in a morning. I've just done half an hour on the trampoline with dd. she's in her tent right now with some water. Just general things about summer, washing on the line, evenings eating outside with a glass of wine, the warmth of the sun on my skin...

Greydog · 23/06/2014 11:51

being out with the dog in the very early morning, before most people are up. The lovely fresh day, listening to the birds, and watching the bats. Sometimes an owl on it's way home, and if I'm really lucky, the sun coming up while the moon is still out. Marvellous. I love the jasmine and the mock orange in the garden late at night, and I can sit with a coffee, watching the stars - and any passing bats!

Grin Which one changes? Your birthday or the Earth's axis? Wink

I'm with you on summer! Not so with you on the cleaning & trampolining, but all the rest YES! I should have carried on living in the tropics, it suited me MUCH better. Happy birthday for last weekend :)

This morning, I was overcome with wellbeing. Sunshine, an empty motorway, music on too loud.

ginorwine · 26/06/2014 12:55

Ps what a fab thread !! Thanks op !

Being in my garden on a sunny day in Summer. It's full of flowers, bees, butterflies, damsel flies and birds. I love sitting on my swing seat early on a hot morning with a huge mug of
coffee, knowing I have the whole day to enjoy just being there.

catlovingdoctor · 04/07/2014 22:10

Cuddles with my cats, riding a horse, sipping a double g&t..

What a really lovely thread Smile
Walking barefoot a long the edge of the sea.
Looking at the sea.
Stroking cats and spaniel type dogs.
A very hot bubbly bath.
Looking out the window seeing the beautiful flowers and greenery.
Sitting in the sun anywhere scenic.

Bettercallsaul1 · 15/07/2014 20:48

This thread is giving me a sense of wellbeing - just reading it! Happiness definitely lies in the simple things...

honeybeeridiculous · 15/07/2014 21:03

A sunny day with a lovely breeze,
Washing blowing on the line,
Flowers in my garden,
My cat sat on my lap purring,
Spending time with my parents,
Seeing DC's happy,
Clean sheets,
Coming to the end of a shift at work knowing I have a couple of days off,
Sitting in bed on said day off with a nice cuppa,
Grin
Funny how it's the little simple things that make us all happy isn't it?

Eeyore86 · 15/07/2014 21:12

Ice skating/ ice hockey used to be my thing, nothing better then fresh ice and an (almost) empty rink however following an accident that left me disabled 7 years ago it took a long time to find something that replaced that total exhilaration.

For me one it would be:
Time with my nephew and godkids
Sun rise at the beach (preferably the Caribbean)
Dogs
Sex and
Rowing (well pararowing) nothing better then a few hours spent on the river to give the feeling of total freedom and exhilaration following a race, finally something that compares with the ice stuff
