For me, it's watching washing on the line. DH thinks i'm a loon.

There's just something about watching clean washing blowing in the breeze that fills me with a sense of general wellbeing. If i'm stressed or grumpy, it instantly makes me feel better. I don't know why.

What is it for you?

Drawing the curtains and switching on the lamps when it's getting dark

SetTheWorldOnFire · 21/06/2014 22:41

I get it from washing on the line too, can't decide why hanging washing on an airer indoors is just another crappy chore and hanging washing on the line makes me feel good, but this is definitely the case.

Planting things.

The moment when your DC takes your hand, or gives you an unexpected kiss, and everything is just right for a moment.

Sex and (very occasionally) drugs.

knowing that I am pushing 30, have 4 children and can still outrun kids half my age at the stables

Coumarin · 21/06/2014 23:12

Thought of another.

A full fridge.

After doing a Big Shop I open the fridge door for a look everytime I go past it. Blush I love seeing all the fresh food neatly arranged and looking colourful.

Coumarin · 21/06/2014 23:13

WeirdCat That fudge looks lovely.

WeirdCatLady · 21/06/2014 23:18

Kissing. DH and I have been together 12 years and had a phase after DD2 of not kissing during sex. We had too many issues to be that intimate...having a quickie isn't as intimate as kissing but recently we've got it together properly and feel close enough to have proper, long kisses and there's nothing like it...the buzz lasts a couple of days after that sort of closeness.

threedeer · 22/06/2014 07:43

OP - I can see what you mean about laundry. it's very peaceful. I love hanging it out. Stuffing it in the drier just doesn't have the same appeal.

Cuddling the cat - he is so staggeringly handsome and so friendly. He wakes me up by climbing under the duvet and snuggling against me for a cuddle. Makes me feel high.

So does cycling in the woods with Dc and hanging out with DC making each other laugh. We do a lot of messing about putting on silly voices that really wouldn't translate well to the outside world, but it entertains us.

DearDinah · 22/06/2014 08:10

At the moment it's walking past the nursery wardrobe & peeking inside at the new clothes hanging ready for our first child.
Lying in bed knowing you don't need to get up anytime soon & hearing the birds chirping.
Spending time with mum, laughing.

PartTimeProcrastinator · 22/06/2014 08:15

Having time for a peaceful cup of tea before DS wakes up.

A good walk in the morning

Sharing good food with good friends

Seeing the new things DS is learning all the time

Objection · 22/06/2014 08:20

Getting up when I want, having a cup of tea and thinking about leaving the house.

Rainydayblues · 22/06/2014 09:23

Walking while listening to some great tunes through my amazingly crisp headphones - I find myself unable to stop smiling, it's almost spiritual.

Everyday - up early, freshly ground coffee...and silence, morning light....the calm before everyone else gets up.

northlight · 22/06/2014 09:25

Hearing children playing in the near distance on a hot, still summer's day. There is just something about the quality of the sound that makes it special.

ecofreckle · 22/06/2014 09:38

outdoor snoozes. Going to bed in a tent. A quiet cuddle with my dd when she's feeling calm enough. A seasonal meal (ingredients I mean, not easter/Christmas). The smell of May/early summer. Reading on the beach. That rare moment when everything is done. Driving home after a day of work where I feel I've done a good job and people have gone away happy. Knowing we all have a holiday just around the corner. A peaceful trip on my own to my mum's grave where I have long enough to chat through life. Staring at a full moon. Seeing my dh make my 15 mo giggle whilst they play.

CruCru · 22/06/2014 09:38

Dappled sunlight under tall trees.

MomOfTwoGirls2 · 22/06/2014 10:11

A blue sky, especially in the morning on way to school
A sunny day
Fresh sheets
A nice glass of wine while watching my fav TV program
Smell of freshly cut grass
The feel of the sun on my body while sunbathing
Chatting and laughing with good friends over dinner and drinks
A perfect latte
A really good rainbow
A starry night
An extra large full moon

MrsWinnibago · 22/06/2014 10:13

north yes! I love the muted sounds of distant kids on Summer evenings. It's the very essence of life. Or something. Grin
