... to think that DP didn't have to eat all the pesto.

I made about 200ml of fresh pesto this afternoon. I had some bolognese sauce for me and DS (DP is vegetarian). AIBU to think that DP is a total scoffyfucker for eating the whole lot? I didn't even get a taste (apart from the very small taste for seasoning while I was making it).

200ml is not enough. I would have scoffed the lot as well.

Bluestocking · 15/06/2014 21:25

OK, it wasn't enough, but given the amount of basil I had, it was all I could make! Are you trying to make it My Fault?Angry

Me too.

LiberalLibertine · 15/06/2014 21:26

LTB no mercy. (I love pesto)

LineRunner · 15/06/2014 21:26

If it was lovely, which it obviously was, I would have had that scoffed in seconds.

Bluestocking · 15/06/2014 21:29

I concede defeat - it was my fault for making such a laughably small quantity of something so delicious! Win-win (kind of). I'll make a vat next time and invite you all round!

Would love to be able to make my own pesto (off topic I know)

thegreylady · 15/06/2014 21:46

My dh makes the best pesto in the world ever. It is our Summer favourite, in the garden , spaghetti and pesto, chilled white wind, strawberries, Wensleydale cheese....heaven.

thegreylady · 15/06/2014 21:46

Wine not wind!

LineRunner · 15/06/2014 21:47

You are hoist by your own parmesan.

ThisBitchIsResting · 15/06/2014 21:49

YABU for not giving us the recipe

annabelcaramel · 15/06/2014 21:49

Homemade pesto. Mmmmmmmm. And I could leave it sitting next to DH for a lifetime safe in the knowledge he would not go near it. This thread has just decided supper for tomorrow. For some of the family Grin

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 15/06/2014 21:54

YANBU. 200 ml of pesto is like 2 jars worth. You're only supposed to use a couple of teaspoons per portion.

If I made that much, it would be frozen in ice cube trays and I would want it to last for months.

What did have that was swimming in pesto?

Lackland · 15/06/2014 21:56

Line runner, you crack me up!

FunkyBoldRibena · 15/06/2014 21:58

Chilled white wind. *chortle

FarelyKnuts · 15/06/2014 21:59

Homemade pesto is awesome though. My DP makes hers with pecans added as well as pine nuts. It is so so good. I would scoff the lot too sorry :o

Bluestocking · 15/06/2014 22:05

I will happily share a recipe (or several) - I referred to http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2010/sep/02/how-to-make-perfect-pesto this but used garlic even though Felicity says not to.

Bluestocking · 15/06/2014 22:05

What happened to my linky?

OP posts:
FarelyKnuts · 16/06/2014 16:29

Has to have garlic. This is non negotiable!

dexter73 · 16/06/2014 16:34

Sounds delicious! You will have to start hiding it or your dh is going to start piling on the pounds eating that much pesto in one go!

CaffeinatedKitten · 16/06/2014 16:53

I've hated to look of pesto for years, but having read the recipe it actually sounds lovely. Must buy a pestle and mortar.

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 16/06/2014 17:24

200 ml is loads!! Shock and I'd have scoffed it all myself definitely having pesto this week now

Bluestocking · 16/06/2014 18:12

Good point, Dexter, I'll make him aware of just how fattening it is!
Kitten, real pesto is completely different from the ready-made in the jars, don't resist!

OP posts:
FarelyKnuts · 16/06/2014 18:38

It's good fat though isn't it?

DaphneMoon1 · 16/06/2014 18:40
