To think everyone should be tired, sunburnt having been to the open farm Sunday today?

Because we are! We had a great day holding baby animals and ferrets, donkey rides and archery and lots and lots of exciting things for the children to do.

Open Farm Sunday happens every year in June and is a great time for families to visit the farm!

I'm tired but not sunburnt having been clearing out the loft and garage. We've been here thirty-five years, both with a tendency to hoard, guess how much crap we've accumulated . . .

teaandthorazine · 08/06/2014 19:17

Yep, we've been out all day - ds has been playing football with his mates for about 3 hours solid...definitely tired and my shoulders are slightly pink they'll be brown tomorrow though

Hoppinggreen · 08/06/2014 19:23

Never heard of open farm day and it's not been sunny enough to get sunburnt here today so YABU

ExitPursuedByABear · 08/06/2014 19:25

I had to make do with the open farm on The Archers as I am in hospital.

Glad you had a lively day.

Blithereens · 08/06/2014 19:28

I'm tired and sunburnt but only because I've been in the pub all afternoon [wholesome]

Freckletoes · 08/06/2014 19:28

YABU! When you live on a farm "Open Farm" is a bit of a busman's holiday! (Glad you had fund!)

AtYourCervix · 08/06/2014 19:29

I'm tired after working a 13 hour shift last night with no break and only 3 hours sleep today. Humph.

PhaedraIsMyName · 08/06/2014 19:30

Oh dear. I thought it only existed in Ambridge.

cardibach · 08/06/2014 19:32

I'm tired because of a family wedding yesterday and a follow up barbecue today.

BikeRunSki · 08/06/2014 19:32

Was a toss up between open farm Sunday and family bike ride with local cycling club. Ds picked bike ride. Still exhausted and a have caught a bit of sun.

revolutionarytoad · 08/06/2014 19:33

I spent a week doing WE at an urban farm last week, mucking out and holding rabbits in my breaks, it was great.

My shit-stained clothes made me really popular on the tube back home though Grin

DoJo · 08/06/2014 19:34

YABU - sunburn is a bitch! But Open Farm Sunday was awesome - many tractors were inspected, ferrets were examined, stickers were acquired and we watched sheep having 'haircuts'. Roll on next year...!

No farms near us :(

We did however go for a walk and a swim but I'm not sunburnt as I used sun cream on top of the sunburn I got yesterday playing at the park

I've never heard of it! Sounds fun, i've put it in my calender for next year Wink

OwlCapone · 08/06/2014 19:44

Why should people be sunburnt?

Hiphopopotamus · 08/06/2014 19:44

Oops - I saw this title and thought - ah, an Archers AIBU thread! Blush

Had no idea it was a real life thing!

TheBookofRuth · 08/06/2014 19:49

We are all tired and a bit sunburnt (except DD who was smothered in factor 50), having been to a farmers market, then had a picnic lunch, and then took DD to the splash park. Until half an hour ago, when I persuaded her to come in for her bath, we were all still sitting in the garden. Lovely day.

sunbathe · 08/06/2014 19:50

I've never heard of it.
What a shame.

newfavouritething · 08/06/2014 19:55

Yay for open farm sunday, but we have had off-farm sunday, got someone else to bottle feed lambs, now back to it 7am, 12pm, 5pm, 10pm - have done 4 weeks, should be finished in the next 4-5 weeks, am bloody tired of feeding them, does that count?
