SIL looked shocked when I told her. How often do your kids get a hairwash?

I wash my dds hair when it gets dirty, or looks greasy/lank (they're 2yo and 5yo).

It varies. Sometimes it is every night (rarely more than a couple on the trot), but never less than once per week.

I wouldn't be at every third night, OP. Your SIL needs to get a grip

Three times a week. They're seven.

When they were babies/toddlers and only had fine baby hair which took no drying, I did it every night. Now they are bigger and have masses of thick hair, it's once or twice a week, or after they've been swimming. Every three days is fine, kids hair doesn't get greasy.

Not at all -both my dds are curly and if washed more than twice a week it turned into candy floss

Probably works out at twice a week. I don't think it is good to wash it too much, surely? My dd has quite long hair now and I want to keep it in nice condition.

Ds3 weekly tops often less- he hate it think screaming blue murder, just flannel wash down as often as possible

Once a week 'proper' hairwash for our three (10, 4.5 and 16m) - by which I mean using shampoo/rinsing it out etc.

They generally have a bath every day and will typically dunk their heads under the water most bathtimes but they only get shampooed once a week...

Rinse, depends - the 5yo probably twice a week, 3yo maybe once a month, baby sometimes.

Shampoo, nearly never. If it gets something horrible in it, maybe - the 3yo last had his shampooed when he put half a bottle of suncream in it. 6mo has never had his washed.

Before you sniff, I actually get compliments on the smell of their heads, and their hair is shiny and lovely.

My boys are 15 and 11 and they wash their hair once or twice a week

my boys get showered and hair washed twice a week. They are fine.

its once a week here for my dd. she has waist length thick hair. its takes well over an hour to comb though and dry. im not doing that more than once a week.

Both dd's aged 6 and 9 get theirs washed twice a week, once on a Friday after swimming and again on a Tuesday. They have showers without hair washes on Sundays and any other day they happen to look grubby.

Ds, almost 13, washes his every night in the shower. He's a smelly bugger so needs to shower every day.

Twice a week here. Thursday and Sunday. Any more is pointless!

Once a week. Shampoo, conditioner, nit check, plaits so it comes out wavy for school. And maybe again midweek if needed or a dunk in the bath (if hot weather and hair smelling more of girl than sunshine)
