To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

I know joysmum the headline I read was about a boy "throwing" a pie - there was no throwing at all.

Save for the plate he may as well have just punched her in the face.

LineRunner · 30/05/2014 10:27

It's all most as though the 'pie' was a mask for hitting her.

LineRunner · 30/05/2014 10:28

almost

greenfolder · 30/05/2014 10:29

this is an adult man basically assaulting a teacher for a laugh, thinking he can get away with it and then circulating the whole thing. What an absolute little git. There are consequences in life and he is now learning this. By taking to social media, this will now follow him for life. If he had not involved social media, the school may well have been minded to revoke the expulsion and write him some form of reference. Its a moot point now as the universe including colleges and employers only have to google his name to see what a twat he is.

now that is the power of social media.

vindscreenviper · 30/05/2014 10:33

The man that rewarded him with a job is on Twitter now defending him, apparently poor Jacob "was the underdog as soon as the police were called".

@Lawrence_jones

LumpySpacedPrincess · 30/05/2014 10:58

Take away the custard pie and it's just a man shoving his hand forcefully in a woman's face, videoing it, refusing to apologise.

He then gets a job and loads of public sympathy.

It's a fucking joke.

pianodoodle · 30/05/2014 11:01

So presumably if I were to tape a cream bun to my shoe and then boot him in the balls that would be cool....

SauvignonBlanche · 30/05/2014 11:20

He needs to shut the fuck up.

QuintessentiallyQS · 30/05/2014 11:21

True. And I was going to agree wholeheartedly until I read more about Lawrence Jones.

One should not post in haste, with ill-considered viewpoints without checking facts (like the OP of this thread)

The CEO of UKFast has made a point of offering jobs and trainee-ships to troubled youth, much like Jamie Oliver has with his restaurants. Clearly he sees this man as a troubled youth in need of guidance. And if he can get him on the right track, I would applaud him.

Young thugs need structure and discipline and the belief that somebody believe in them.

LineRunner · 30/05/2014 11:22

Yes, you can sellotape a paper plate your fist, put some squirty cream on it, and then hit someone in the face with it as hard as you like for a joke.

vindscreenviper · 30/05/2014 11:30

Ah but LineRunner if you do that at their place of work then upload a clip of it onto YouTube the joke is upgraded to prank and one of your Dad's mates will give you a job once you realise that you have made yourself unemployable!

Gunznroses · 30/05/2014 11:30

Quint That would be laudable if Lawrence jones did infact see this hoodlum as a 'troubled youth' and wanted to to give him guidance. But his view is that the chap has done nothing wrong, it is the school that is at fault, OTT, and his offering Doodle (or whatever his name is) a job is his way of saying 'lets stick two fingers up at them all'.

But he isn't being recognised as a young thug is he?

That's the point. He has been immediately rewarded with a job, without showing that he is genuinely sorry.

Lawrence Jones has taken him on because he thinks he is "courageous" and has "stood up to the teacher"

There are loads of disadvantaged kids that grow up surrounded by crime and for them it becomes the only option. They need help, not a privileged man who has so many opportunities. There are thousands of kids that have to try hard to get a decent education, avoid gangs etc.

All this man has to do is avoid "happy slapping" people.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 30/05/2014 11:35

He does reply when you tweet.

ConferencePear · 30/05/2014 11:37

What worries me is that no-one has taken this to its logical conclusion. If it's OK for Jacob Dowdle to do this then next year it will be OK for any and every teacher to have a pie pushed in their face by any pupil who is leaving. Or should that only be women teachers ? If they do it to the men will it be OK if they retaliate ? Or will that be assault ?

There are some very odd standards going on here.

Jacob Dowdle was helped by his friends - otherwise how did he know he teacher was there - he had his back to her to start with.

LineRunner · 30/05/2014 11:37

I'm not on Twitter so I can't message him, but thanks to those who have.

He's not really doing Mr Doodle any favours.

Gunznroses · 30/05/2014 11:38

Lawrence Jones - "displayed courage", "stood up to the teacher"

Quint - Clearly he sees this man as a troubled youth in need of guidance Really ? Hmm

This worries me as well, are we going to see more attacks on teachers in the next couple of weeks "inspired" by this arsehole and his media campaign?

LumpySpacedPrincess · 30/05/2014 11:41

Ann Maguire lost her life recently. I think this active promotion of thugish behaviour towards teachers is downright dangerous.

vindscreenviper · 30/05/2014 11:41

Wait! Hold on there, Lawrence Jones has promised to write a blog about it.

I'm sure it will be an epiphany for all the cynics ascribing self-serving motives to his part in this. Grin

pianodoodle · 30/05/2014 11:41

What is it that Lawrence Jones thinks this guy stood up to? Being given an education?

Something that many people (girls) worldwide have to genuinely fight for.

LtEveDallas · 30/05/2014 11:45

Hi Quint,

When I was tweeting with Lawrence Jones yesterday he was minimising like mad, and if you check his previous tweets and FB posts (incl the one where he offers the job) he says that the teacher 'obviously has no sense of humour' that it was 'just a silly action' and that (this one was the worst one for me) "It takes tremendous courage to stand up and do something different. I wonder why he felt the teacher deserved it"

felt the teacher deserved it

I think that is shocking.

FindingSunshine · 30/05/2014 11:46

Who would be a teacher when some adults, parents and the media think they should suck up being assaulted because it's just a 'prank'

If I was attacked like this in my workplace, the assailant would be sacked. The police could also be involved.
