To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

Ugh!

Completely support the school.

There is no way she should have to "take this on the chin". It is common assault and should be treated as such.Angry

ConferencePear · 28/05/2014 15:47

We are not talking about a boy here either; he is old enough to vote for goodness sake.

nauticant · 28/05/2014 15:51

And that would probably be for UKIP.

AICM · 28/05/2014 15:52

The petition is here:

www.ipetitions.com/petition/expelled-for-a-plate-full-of-whipped-cream-prank

I wonder what the Policeman who posted on this site would have done if an 18 year old who he had history with had done this to him when he was on duty. just laughed it off I suppose.

LumpySpacedPrincess

Having read some of the responses most of them are aimed at her being a teacher not at her gender.

Pumpkinpositive · 28/05/2014 16:15

AICM, many thanks. Thanks

off to cause a riot

ConferencePear · 28/05/2014 16:23

Has anyone asked Mr Gove what he thinks ? He's genuinely interested in the minutiae of school life.

frostyfingers · 28/05/2014 16:30

My first thought when I read the article was "that's a bit extreme" (suspension/expulsion), but on reflection and seeing that it got up on Youtube and the fact the he was moaning he'd had no reply to his written apology I think the school were entirely justified. He should have considered the consequences, it's no good moaning "it's not fair" now.

Reading his petition makes him sound even more petulant and pathetic, and reading the comments underneath it is depressing beyond words. The horrible things said about teachers make me despair.

EvilTwins · 28/05/2014 16:43

Just looked at his petition. Frankly, he deserves prosecution for his misuse of the word "myself". It's a pet peeve and makes me cringe!

emotionsecho · 28/05/2014 16:43

I'll join your riot Pumpkin the comments under that petition are dreadful and a fair few of them are aimed at her gender with the usual well thought out insults e.g., bitch.

Some of the comments appear to be from students and they are also worrying.

princessconsuelobananahammock · 28/05/2014 16:44

What an absolute knob. You just don't do that. Headteacher's response is quite correct.

LizzieVereker · 28/05/2014 16:46

Have just read his petition. What a whiney little snot. What he fails to understand is that it's not his teacher's perfectly understandable decision to press charges that might "ruin his life", it's his own actions, his poor choices. And I hate the bravado about refusing to name those who helped him.

princessconsuelobananahammock · 28/05/2014 16:51

@lawrence_jones is the boss of the company if anyone is on twitter. Already some comments on there mostly praising him. I just don't get it, why would you want such an immature unrepentant idiot on your team??

EvilTwins · 28/05/2014 17:03

I've tweeted him asking if it would be ok with him if a client assaulted one of his employees. I'm on tenterhooks waiting for him to get back to me Wink

Any little shit did that to me and I'd be calling the police and pressing charges too. Just because his parents may find such disgusting behaviour delightful and endearing (as parents of those types always do), it doesn't mean that other people have to tolerate it or that the law should make exemptions for those raised to believe themselves entitled to behave that way.

As for putting the video up on the internet for everyone to laugh at, increasing the distress of the victim, that makes it a hundred times worse. What the hell is wrong with you that you think the victim should be 'graceful' and pretend to laugh along? Nobody else finds the horribly parented little shits you and these boys parents have raised remotely amusing, it's not other peoples responsibility to swoon over their vile behaviour and smilingly endure assaults on their dignity. Raise considerate, nice, likeable kids and you won't have to worry about victims who demand justice.

Yabu and offensive.

LtEveDallas · 28/05/2014 17:17

People saying that Jason Manford is supporting him - all I can see is one tweet where he suggests the twerp contacts someone from The Mirror. Are there more? Can't see his signature on the petition either?

Fully support the teacher and HT here. Little shit deserves everything he gets.

OwlCapone · 28/05/2014 17:21

I'm guessing English isn't one of his A levels because he is crap at writing!

emotionsecho · 28/05/2014 17:21

Why does his right to push a custard/cream pie in someone's face override their right not to have a custard/cream pie pushed in their face?

With rights come responsibilities and with actions come consequences, high time Jacob Dowdle and his supporters realised that.

Sallyingforth · 28/05/2014 17:22

The little shit just doesn't get it does he. If he'd made a sincere apology right away, instead of running off home he might just have got away with it.
But instead he tries to justify it as just a prank.
Then he posts it on YouTube.
Then he runs to the press.
Then he starts a petition.
At every stage he digs himself an even deeper hole. And that hole can never be filled in - it will be there for the whole world to see for ever.
Google currently gives 235,000 results for "Jacob Dowdle". It will be a lot more by the morning. Well done lad! It's good to see a bully brought down to size.

MaxsMummy2012 · 28/05/2014 17:43

Hmmm really smokepole so if an adult male at your work place did this to you should you be expected to take it on the chin?

And if a mumsnetter came on and said her husband had done this to her should she just take it on the chin too?

Absolutely disgraceful that there are still attitudes in this day and age that think violence against women (or anyone for that matter) is acceptable!

Beardlover · 28/05/2014 17:50

I think tea hers need to be protected from this sort of behaviours. Slapping a china plate in a teachers face and refusing to remove an uploaded film of the assault from FB is totally unacceptable. It wasn't a warm friendly prank
