To think the School overreacted in Expelling Pupil and calling Police for a stunt, when a "bollocking would have been enough".

Jacob Dowdle, a year 13 Pupil at Altrincham Grammar school on the last day of term May 16, put a paper plate with whipped cream in to his year heads face.

This was a very "Stupid" thing to do, but no harm was meant or injury caused yet the school called the Police and summary expelled him. The teacher was seeking a prosecution for the stunt, when she was not injured The teacher although upset , should have had the grace to except that it was a poor stunt , ( or like most teachers on the last day taken it on the chin as overexcited students behaviour).

Disgraceful behaviour, how awful for the teacher :-(

TiggyD · 28/05/2014 17:56

He threw a pie at a teacher he says doesn't have a sense of humour with him. In other words he was laughing at the teacher, not attempting to laugh with them. That assault rather than a (bad) joke.

He's a little shit who only at 18 is only just learning that actions have consequences.

DinoSnores · 28/05/2014 17:56

Completely on the side of the teacher here. Our end of school prank was to cover the school pond in rubber ducks, which was greeted with general amusement!

princessconsuelobananahammock · 28/05/2014 18:06

I've tweeted him too...more tweets!!

EvilTwins · 28/05/2014 18:10

He tweeted back. Said that he didn't agree with assault in the workplace but that he didn't think that this was assault and that he's just trying to help the boy "turn his life around". I replied saying I think his philanthropy is misdirected.

Goblinchild · 28/05/2014 18:12

Excellent, so now he'll be known as the businessman who actively seeks out employees with a history of assaulting women.
I wonder how many female staff he has, and whereabouts in his organisation they rank.

ilovesooty · 28/05/2014 18:12

overexcited students behaviour?

Give me strength. He's a violent little shit who knew exactly what he was doing. If I'd been the teacher I'd have pressed charges.

PrincessBabyCat · 28/05/2014 18:19

I can promise if this student had a friendly relationship with the teacher, it would have been fine. Just like kids throwing their coach in the pool, dumping Gatorade on him, or other silly antics to express affection. But seeing how upset she was, he was probably butting heads with her before he did this.

The difference is this: If a friend I got along with threw a pie in my face, I'd think it was funny and get even with them at a later date. If it was someone I didn't like and didn't get along with, I'd call the police and press charges.

DraggingDownDownDown · 28/05/2014 18:19

Has anyone got a link to the video?

BoneyBackJefferson · 28/05/2014 18:20

I wonder what he will do when the kid does this to someone in his office.

LtEveDallas · 28/05/2014 18:20

Saw you EvilTwins Grin. The mans a fool isn't he? Strangely I've just had 2 blokes follow me, one is def one of his friends. I'll see what happens - I don't really use Twitter...

bellarations · 28/05/2014 18:26

Dragging. You don't need a link, put the little shits name in utube.
I've seen it, it's horrible.
He deserves more than a "bollocking".
If he was my son I would be very angry and infact ashamed.

TiggyD · 28/05/2014 18:29

You could always contact him via here

TiggyD · 28/05/2014 18:30

The business guy that is.

maras2 · 28/05/2014 18:30

Little bastard.Deserves far more than expulsion.Don't care if it does jeopardise his future career.

browneyedgirl86 · 28/05/2014 18:36

This isn't a silly little boy, he's 18!
What he did was unacceptable. Little thug!

Nanny0gg · 28/05/2014 18:39

I read that he thought that the teacher wasn't especially keen on him.

Wonder if that's why he chose such a humiliating 'prank' to play on her.

I think the HT did the right thing and he should be grateful he's still being allowed to sit his exams.

Wonder what his university choices think now? Can they rescind offers?

Hup · 28/05/2014 18:44

He is on TV at the moment having been offered a job by a man called Lawrence Jones who says "it has actually taken courage to do something like this and stand up to a teacher to be a phantom flan flinger for an afternoon" who thinks the whole world is overreacting .....

Courage to hit a woman in the face unprompted .....

princessconsuelobananahammock · 28/05/2014 18:52

He needs to feel the discomfort of people disagreeing with him. Contact him and UKFast to show your support for human decency. I hope he wasn't one of the same when he was at school...I think he probably was though.

OwlCapone · 28/05/2014 18:56

He tweeted back. Said that he didn't agree with assault in the workplace but that he didn't think that this was assault and that he's just trying to help the boy "turn his life around". I replied saying I think his philanthropy is misdirected.

so, he'd be happy if, say, a teacher came up to him and shove a custard pie in his face...?

OwlCapone · 28/05/2014 18:57

What happens to people who throw eggs at MPs? don't they get charged with assault?

BoneyBackJefferson · 28/05/2014 18:57

What did the teacher actually do to be "stood up to"?

AndreasVesalius · 28/05/2014 19:00

Is it sad that I'm not shocked that a few people on here and lots more in general think it is okay for a teacher to be assaulted and humiliated at work?

I'm a human being, I think, I feel, I hurt. Teaching is what I do for a living. It doesn't mean I give up all rights to protection in the workplace.

Teachers generally do have a sense of humour. In a kind of 'you have to laugh or you'd cry' way. We have the charity wet sponges thing every year and the kids queue up to throw them at the willing victims in the spirit of the day. This though is clearly spiteful. We often ponder how some of our youngsters are going to cope when they have to take responsibility for their actions as adults and you can see a clear failure to grow up going on here.

I wish I worked for a HT with the balls that this one has. I had a pound coin thrown at the back of my head from short-range and the culprit only got 5 days FTE.

smokepole · 28/05/2014 19:09

Wow Many Comments to answer:

Maxs. I have been "dunked" at work by other staff Men/Women for my birthday and took it in good faith.

It is quite obvious that Mrs Barrett, did not have the same appreciation or respect of students as other teachers at the school.

It does appear that if this had happened at another school, or other teacher, the incident would not have reached this stage.

Jacob or friends were very stupid posting the video on line ( Lack of Maturity) and should have said "sorry" at the exact moment it became apparent the stunt had backfired. They should have sort to de-escalate the situation, the school should have given Jacob/friends an opportunity to do so and try to overt the media frenzy that has occurred .

The reason Lawence Jones from one of the fastest growing IT companies has offered Jacob a job is because he is a "Risk Taker" and with "self control" natural risk takers ( people who are prepared to go outside the box can be great successes).

The comments about Jacob not having "good enough grades for University" are pathetic , he may not need to go anyway?

I think we can all see that common sense has gone out of the window from all concerned, the school for the way it handled it instead of a "stern warning" or bollocking, the school excluded him on the last day, pointless. this lack of thought will have the result of making Jacob the "Hero" and "Martyr" to his fellow pupils for "Pieing" a unpopular teacher.
