Friends are having their first DC soon. We were talking about names and one that they had settled on is the name of a character from a very well known kids TV show. Think Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine, Fireman Sam.

First name and surname the same, BTW.

Obviously they don't have DC so they don't watch kids TV yet. I wanted to tell them but DH said it would be really rude. Maybe in a few years this show won't be watched as much, but it's pretty popular so idk.

Who is BU?

Hannah Montana?

Just tell them. It's hardly a personal insult. They might find it funny.

I know someone with a Charlotte (known as Charlie) and a Lola.

They were named before the programme came out.

I would just say to them casually. "Have there's a XX on CBeeBies, he's on This programme".
Non judgemental, but gives them the chance to change if they don't like that. They may think it's great and not want to though.
