Are these dirty habits or AIBU?

Some of DP's habits I find quite frankly repulsive and it's caused major rows between us.

Some of things he does which I find disgusting:
-Never washes his hands if he's done a wee
-when he empties his bowels, he'll only rinse his wiping hand with water

-this morning I caught him drinking out of the milk bottle when it's no where near empty (and he has a brown tongue atm so it means no-one else can use it now and it was a 6 Pinter) Angry
-doesn't wash himself everyday

I could go on but these are the main issues that are driving me mad. He thinks IABU and gets very defensive when I confront him.

OP posts:

I don't find I need to shower everyday. DP does, I think men sweat a lot more.

I also never use soap.... Blush I have a skin condition and it makes it dry and tight.

Brown tongue sounds sexy though..... Oh no, repulsive, that's the word.

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 10:51

This is not about hygiene or health hazards, this is about complete and utter contempt for your feelings about it.

You've got bigger issues than hand washing IMO, PenguinBear, sorry.
What does staying with him give you?

Fairenough, I just hate what that bathroom says about the male of the species Hmm

Dramatic · 11/05/2014 10:53

Urine is not sterile.

Gileswithachainsaw · 11/05/2014 10:56

And even if you don't get urine on his hands he still touches his penis to wee.

Balls get hot and sweaty and smelly of course you should wash your hands after going to the lol regardless of whether wee gets on your hand.

ClashCityRocker · 11/05/2014 10:58

I thought it was...is it an old wives tale then?

Gileswithachainsaw · 11/05/2014 10:58

It's sterile til it leaves the body

Fairenuff · 11/05/2014 11:00

That bathroom says it all doesn't it Sad

Some men you just wouldn't want around you OP and I think your dp is one of them. Disgusting personal habits and lack of respect for you. Why do you put up with it?

ClashCityRocker · 11/05/2014 11:03

Ugh, just had a google.

Now going to firmly instruct DH on the importance of hand washing and resolving never to go near his penis again

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 11/05/2014 11:05

How can you actually only just wash one hand Confused. Isn't it easier to wash both?

Disclaimer: I am not implying that people with one hand do not wash their hands properly. Just that it's actually easier to wash both due to the rubbing element

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 11:10

Healthy urine IS sterile, skin/penis less so Grin

UncleT · 11/05/2014 11:12

What a dirty bastard.

ClashCityRocker · 11/05/2014 11:14

This has been educational.

Maybe you should show him this thread?

NearTheWindymill · 11/05/2014 11:14

Agree with others this is about more than poor hygiene.

comingintomyown · 11/05/2014 11:15

Sorry it must be awful for you OP but this thread has made me roar !

ClashCityRocker · 11/05/2014 11:24

Just told DH he needs to wash his hands after a wee.

Apparently he doesn't touch his penis??!

PacificDogwood · 11/05/2014 11:27

Oh, I've had "Look, mummy, no hands!" (from DS), closely followed by the need to clean the bathroom HmmGrin
I am not sure that the hands-free technique is to be recommended...

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2014 11:28

I am afraid he will need to demonstrate that to you Clash, and you will need to report back as to how.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 11/05/2014 11:41

To be honest the only reason I wash my hands after going to the toilet is because I don't trust anyone else to not piss or shit on their hands.

I certainly don't get wee or poo on my hands when I go to the loo so that part doesn't bother me but the thought of touching the flush, the lock, door handle and the taps makes me

Fairylea · 11/05/2014 11:51

Disgusting of him. I don't know why you're still with him. You don't seem to have much of a relationship if you have no sexual intimacy (can't blame you when he's so horrid) and so on. What's the point??

Dh always washes his hands. Always. In fact he is probably the other way round in that he uses gallons of hand wash and I can't keep up with supply and demand for it in our house! He always says he finds it disgusting how many men don't wash their hands when they come out of the toilet. It totally puts me of touching things in public or shaking hands with people. Who wants a handful of some randomers pissy penis hand??

Yuck.

Fairenuff · 11/05/2014 11:59

the thought of touching the flush, the lock, door handle and the taps makes me

How do you get out of the bathroom without touching the door handle?

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 11/05/2014 12:10

Well I do use the handle obviously Grin but I try and touch it as little as possible.

Goldmandra · 11/05/2014 12:13

I certainly don't get wee or poo on my hands when I go to the loo

Isn't it amazing how many people are convinced that they don't get piss and shit on their hands when they use the toilet yet, somehow, it gets on door handles, food, etc, touched by people who haven't washed their hands?

Why not consider that possibility of tiny amounts that you can't see or feel being on there?

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 11/05/2014 12:20

I'm not saying that I don't wash my own hands btw. I do.

Sparklingbrook · 11/05/2014 12:23

In a public loo I pull my sleeve over my hand to open the door to get out. I hate touching bannister rails/shopping trolleys and lift buttons. I love a revolving or automatic door me.

ClashCityRocker · 11/05/2014 12:32

Oh god, it gets worse.

Apparently he just sort of waggles his willie to dry it off (no doubt spraying bits of urine everywhere in the process) rather than shaking it.

I'm going to spend my Sunday afternoon teaching my 45 year old DH how to wee properly, aren't i?
