to wonder why people are so obsessed with wearing extremely tight jeans

We have a dress down day on a Friday at work and every week the younger men and women in the office come into work in skin tight jeans. They look very uncomfortable to wear particularly for the men

Me and others find it baffling as they look so uncomfortable so why would they want to wear them or is it just me getting old.

you can't be as old as me then

we used to sew ourselves into jeans when we were teenagers

it's fashion, innit Wink

MrsDavidBowie · 10/05/2014 18:49

How old are you?

Sirzy · 10/05/2014 18:49

I wear skinny jeans sometimes but they are perfectly comfy.

WorraLiberty · 10/05/2014 18:50

Mine aren't uncomfortable at all

Not sure about men though, I don't think they suit them anyway.

Redcoats · 10/05/2014 18:50

I like skinny jeans, they make my legs look skinny and detract from my big belly.

I'm not a fan of skinny jeans on men tho.

gotnotimeforthat · 10/05/2014 18:50

I love my skinny jeans and I don't find them uncomfortable at all.

But on saying that they don't look like they have been sprayed onto my lets either.

pianodoodle · 10/05/2014 18:51

Mine are quite stretchy so not uncomfortable.

Forgettable · 10/05/2014 18:51

It's the fashion nowadays innit

We just want to be comfy now but c'mon, you wore Spice Girl platform boots and a dress to cover your pants too, didn't ye?

SinglePringle · 10/05/2014 18:51

I love skinny jeans. Can wear them all day / night. Not young (but not old) either.

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 18:52

They do it to show off their fantastic figures, the caahs.

But there's nothing new. My generation used to lie down in the bath in new jeans to shrink them on.

KellyElly · 10/05/2014 18:52

I always wear skinny jeans and they are comfy!

Alisvolatpropiis · 10/05/2014 18:52

I wear very skinny jeans. They're not uncomfortable otherwise I wouldn't wear them.

I do sometimes think that men wearing skinny jeans haven't looked in the mirror before leaving the house. They can't have, otherwise they surely wouldn't have come out displaying a clear outline of their cock and balls?

dexter73 · 10/05/2014 18:53

How are they obsessed with it? Or are they just wearing clothes they like? They are usually quite comfortable as they have elastane in them so are quite stretchy.

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2014 18:53

You can buy men's spray in jeans in Top Man. A lot if DS's mates wear them. They are 14. Grin

They look horrible like they would cut your circulation off. But a bit better than those carrot cut ones with the crotch hanging down usually in pooey nappy colour with elastic round the ankles.

littlegreengloworm · 10/05/2014 18:54

Well as long as they didn't do as I did last week... Tight trousers, early pregnancy .... Split. Blush

Never again ( lucky I work next to a department store so no one found out)

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2014 18:55

Comfy Grin

JennyOnTheBlocks · 10/05/2014 18:55

Icimoi there were a few fatalities back then too, weren't there?

people falling asleep and drowning and or i remember one newspaper story (so it must have been true)of someone falling asleep in front of the fire drying their jeans as they wore them, then getting so tight it caused heart failure

Sad

thank fuck for lycra eh?

who thought anyone would say THAT

Owllady · 10/05/2014 18:59

I am too fat but my teenage Don wears them and they must be comfortable otherwise he would complain#
:)

fanoftheinvisibleman · 10/05/2014 19:01

I've got very skinny jeans on now. Curled up in a chair ans not remotely uncomfy as they are stretchy.

Forgettable · 10/05/2014 19:02

Erm so nobody else wore Spice Girl boots and silly short dresses?

meditrina · 10/05/2014 19:05

I used to take in jeans to make them tighter. And use a wire coathanger to get zips up. So I think OP must be younger than me too! It was before stretch denim was in general use as well, so far less comfy than nowadays.

My only complaint was it took rather longer than ideal to peel very tight jeans off the object of my teen desire.

TequilaMockingbirdy · 10/05/2014 19:10

It's not obsession to like wearing something.

buyter · 10/05/2014 19:11

I'm 54 so maybe its my age.

TheNewSchmoo · 10/05/2014 19:11

I'm 42, I wear them, they're nice and (on me) flattering and comfortable. YABU.
