to wonder why people are so obsessed with wearing extremely tight jeans

We have a dress down day on a Friday at work and every week the younger men and women in the office come into work in skin tight jeans. They look very uncomfortable to wear particularly for the men

Me and others find it baffling as they look so uncomfortable so why would they want to wear them or is it just me getting old.

to wonder why people are so obsessed with wearing extremely tight jeans
doziedoozie · 10/05/2014 19:17

No, they have lycra in them so are v comfy.

I am v ancient.

doziedoozie · 10/05/2014 19:18

OMG that looks like my nephew bit of a poser so possible

DocDaneeka · 10/05/2014 19:21

trouble I was just about to link to that one!!

mytwoblackandwhitecats · 10/05/2014 19:21

Well, they aren't uncomfortable as they are stretchy as others have pointed out.

However, trying to find jeans that AREN'T skinny is hard!

aquashiv · 10/05/2014 19:22

The stretch y ones are comfy.

Holt smokes, the guy in the grey skinnies! Shock

His poor willy is making a bid for freedom from its strangulating prison.

MinnyMouse · 10/05/2014 19:30

I'm 50 and love wearing my tight but stretchy jeans :)

MinnyMouse · 10/05/2014 19:30

... but never for work though!

Sicaq · 10/05/2014 19:31

Well, I like them because I'm short and I feel like a flump in loose clothes.

Then again, I did see my rear end in a changing room t'other day and was unpleasantly surprised at how ... noticeable it was. And I'm only a (admittedly short) size 8 Blush

MinnyMouse · 10/05/2014 19:31

Troubleinstore ... my oh my Blush

TereseaGreen · 10/05/2014 19:42

Forgettable I had the baby spice white platforms that I teamed with a sparkly pink mini dress bought on the market. You are not alone.

Spartak · 10/05/2014 20:35

Where do people any bigger than a size 10 buy them from? I've tried a few places but they won't go past my knees due to chunky thighs.

VampyreofTimeandMemory · 10/05/2014 20:38

have you tried looking for anything other than skinnies recently? I've decided, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' even though I love flares...

deakymom · 10/05/2014 20:38

i dont think "some" ladies suit them and ive never seen a man which suits them i saw a right one in town she had skinny jeans which were low cut and a short top she had obviously not long had a baby and had not bounced back it was a bit of a state to be honest Sad she could hardly walk her boyfriend looked Angry and kept storming off leaving her to stagger along in her too tight clothing

HemlockStarglimmer · 10/05/2014 20:51

Adding Lycra to denim has made a huge difference to how comfortable jeans are.

libertytrainers · 10/05/2014 20:57

men look really funny in them, who was that comedian who used to wear them in the 70s? anyway reminds me of him

i'm going off mine

ForeskinHyena · 10/05/2014 21:03

My DSs wear them, they recently bought women's ones (size 6, the skinny buggers!) as they can't find men's ones tight enough!

They are stretchy and comfortable and they wear t shirts long enough to cover their bits so not all on display!

I also wear them (but size 14 Hmm ) as I like wearing boots and only skinnies work to tuck in. I also wear longish tops most of the time and find they are stretchy and comfy, but swap to tracky bottoms at lounging time.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 10/05/2014 21:07

Nothing as ageing as comfort fit baggy jeans. Being a teenager in the era when coathangers where used to do up the zips on jeans, I find the lycra-infused denim very comfortable. And at 54 I wear my size 8 skinnies with pride (size 8 today being the same as the size 12 I wore in the 70s)

JapaneseMargaret · 10/05/2014 21:09

Fashion at the older gen just don't get. T'was ever thus.

I don't like skinny jeans on blokes either. Thankfully DH abstains.

extremepie · 10/05/2014 23:43

I hate wearing skinny jeans because I'm too fat and they look ridiculous on me I only ever wear bootcut or flares but they are nigh on impossible to buy now, have had to resort to eBay :/
