It is a pretty working class street, some council, some privately owned houses. Not sure if that is relevant but WHY the fuck would you advertise the fact that you are a fuckwit? All of the people with the notices up are older people - older than me, which is 43 (im not older!!!! - ok, maybe a bit).

Its pretty worrying really that what i would normally see as very respectable folk have been sucked in by this bullshit?

This is a conservative ward, and although dissilussioned with the previous gov i have always voted labour - i am going to have to vote bloody tory in a half beat effort to keep Ukip out of the area :(

My DD lives in a town with a ukip counsellor - its fucking dire and getting worse :(

listen if nigel could bring back capital punishment for the worst offenders .where there is no doubt .then that is worth the vote itself .

JanineStHubbins · 11/05/2014 15:01

listen if nigel could bring back capital punishment for the worst offenders .where there is no doubt .then that is worth the vote itself .

Not in a humane society.

dawndonnaagain · 11/05/2014 15:01

EU legislation changed DVLA driving rules. UK were apparently powerless to stop this.

Which rules were these please.

if you don't enjoy it, there are places where it won't trouble you. You know where the exit is.

Icimoi · 11/05/2014 15:05

Did the other UKIP thread go pffft?

aprilanne · 11/05/2014 15:09

How do you establish no doubt?

JanineStHubbins · 11/05/2014 15:13

Murder isn't humane. Who said it was? Neither are executions.

aprilanne · 11/05/2014 15:18

Janine you said not in a humane society .I am just point out the crime is not humane so why should they be given any compassion I mean non was shown .that's all .obviously the death penalty will never be brought back .but some times you think if they stopped and thought they might meet the hang man rather than say 15 years .they might think twice about there crimes .

OneStepCloser · 11/05/2014 15:20

Just a few people wrongfully convicted aprilanne, people you would have been happy to see sent to the gallows.

Angela Cannings
Sally Clark
Derek Bentley
Stefan Kiszko
Stephen Downing
Barry George
Judith Ward
Winston Silcott
Suzanne Holdsworth

JanineStHubbins · 11/05/2014 15:21

I don't think you understand the concept of humaneness, april. It isn't applied simply to those we approve of, it's applied to everyone by virtue of their membership of the human race.

And hanging - really? You really do want to go back to the 1950s, don't you.

MrsBlackthorn · 11/05/2014 15:22

A recent study found 4% of those convicted beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced to death turned out to be innocent.

The death penalty is ineffective and extremely expensive, as well as being barbaric.

But that's a different argument for a different thread.

aprilanne · 11/05/2014 15:24

I did say it obviously would never be brought back ..and I said hanging because that's what britian used to do .

MrsBlackthorn · 11/05/2014 15:25

"they might think twice about there crimes"

Or the complete opposite of this - it demonstrates a disregard of human life by the state. That could explain why the murder rates in US states which DO have the death penalty are higher than those which don't have it.

tabulahrasa · 11/05/2014 15:28

I don't understand how anybody can even contemplate voting for a party who wants to institutionalise people with disabilities.

I don't even care what their other policies are, I don't care how much if a protest vote it is.

How can you possibly be ok with voting for a party that's quite happy to publicly state that they want to remove people with disabilities from general society?

aprilanne · 11/05/2014 15:29

ok I will keep my views on that subject for another thread .

aprilanne · 11/05/2014 15:33

I have an autistic child .and if you think that ukip could suddenly find between 60 thousand to 80 thousand per year to educate and care for every disabled child in britian .they are having a laugh .I mean do I think they will kick in my door and take away my child .eh no likely

aprilanne · 11/05/2014 15:34

that is the price for a residential school in Scotland .38 weeks per year .the price rises to nearly 120 thousand for 52 weeks a year

TrevaronGirl · 11/05/2014 15:36

To claim to be upset about your neighbours voting intentions is somewhat immature to say the least so the fact that your contribution to a debate about different political views is: "but WHY the fuck would you advertise the fact that you are a fuckwit" is really no surprise.

YABU

JanineStHubbins · 11/05/2014 15:37

to educate and care for every disabled child in britian

I think you are placing too much faith in the standard of education and care that will be provided. In all likelihood it will be done on the cheapest possible basis. Is that what you want for your child? Or others like him/her?

specialsubject · 11/05/2014 15:37

my point, for those throwing the toys out of the pram and doing the playground 'racist' scream, is that we live in a democracy which means that people can put up what posters they like. And vote for who they like.

those who do not enjoy democracies have options to move to places such as Saudi Arabia, North Korea, China and so on. But I don't think you'll like it.

if this is too complex, let me know.

JanineStHubbins · 11/05/2014 15:38

Why is it immature to be upset about your neighbour's voting intentions?
