It is a pretty working class street, some council, some privately owned houses. Not sure if that is relevant but WHY the fuck would you advertise the fact that you are a fuckwit? All of the people with the notices up are older people - older than me, which is 43 (im not older!!!! - ok, maybe a bit).

Its pretty worrying really that what i would normally see as very respectable folk have been sucked in by this bullshit?

This is a conservative ward, and although dissilussioned with the previous gov i have always voted labour - i am going to have to vote bloody tory in a half beat effort to keep Ukip out of the area :(

My DD lives in a town with a ukip counsellor - its fucking dire and getting worse :(

But there is no earthly point in voting UKIP thinking they will pull us out of Europe. There are two elections:

  1. For the European parliament. Even if every single member elected is from UKIP, there is nothing they can do there to get Britain out of Europe. The decision isn't made there - all they can do is piss about and make a lot of ineffective noise - like Farage has already been doing.
  2. Local elections. Again no authority to do anything at all about Europe.
Pointless!
aprilanne · 10/05/2014 22:31

no he is not claiming benefits ICIMOI . because the job involved some team working and how the hell can he work in a team if he can,t understand what is being said .

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 22:32

In fact, a quick google of the statistics reveals that the number of British people living in Europe is almost exactly the same as the number of EU citizens living in the UK. So there is no net drain on our services.

aprilanne · 10/05/2014 22:33

i read the times and express .not the sun

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 22:35

Aprilanne, I'm prepared to bet that each and every one of the Polish people employed by that organisation can speak English an awful lot better than most English people speak European languages. And, here's a thought, perhaps if your son is really keen on getting a job he could think about learning Polish, it would stand him in very good stead for the rest of his life.

funnyossity · 10/05/2014 22:36

What's with the crap about telling other posters what papers they read?

aprilanne · 10/05/2014 22:36

oh well never the twain shall meet i suppose .all the main parties are are not doing much for us .so i don,t think nigel and co can do much worse .

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 22:36

i read the times and express .not the sun

You definitely shouldn't believe what the Murdoch press and the Express tell you about immigration.

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 22:37

Aprilanne, are you seriously telling us that your youngest child with autism would be no worse off under Farage despite the fact that UKIP plans to cut spending on education and lock the disabled away?

aprilanne · 10/05/2014 22:38

just icomoi said about mail and sun thats all funnyossity

WickedWitchoftheNorthWest · 10/05/2014 22:39

Because funnyossity when people are mindlessly spouting hateful propaganda it's pretty easy to trace back where it's come from while those citing facts could have gotten them from any number of sources.

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 22:39

What's with the crap about telling other posters what papers they read?

No-one's telling anyone what papers they read.

thornrose · 10/05/2014 22:40

My auntie who I have looked up to all my life is now in her 70's and an avid Daily Mail reader. She is trotting out all kinds of propaganda about immigrants taking our jobs, blah, blah, blah.

My dd has AS (and is mixed race) my auntie loves me and loves dd but she just refuses to listen when I try to tell her about UKIP's disablist policies. She is completely bloody brainwashed Sad

aprilanne · 10/05/2014 22:41

well the cut on education would,nt bother me because he gets bugger all education anyway .and do i think they will be battering down my door to take away my boy .eh no likely .because he costs them bugger all to keep .so why would they want to pay tens of thousands a year for resedential care .guess who being unrealistic now .

OTheHugeManatee · 10/05/2014 22:43

Lackadaisy, the point is that people can have a variety of reasons for wanting to protest. Writing them categorically off as 'cunts' or 'racists' (or whatever in your view best conveys 'Untermensch') in my view shows a lack of willingness to put oneself in someone else's shoes that to me seems very illiberal.

rabbitrisen · 10/05/2014 22:43

Sallingforth. The point is that the other parties would all be forced to sit up and take notice. Note how David Cameron had to backtrack on his words about them, and winces everytime they are mentioned.

aprilanne · 10/05/2014 22:44

thankyou O THE HUGE MANATEE

funnyossity · 10/05/2014 22:44

Ici you wrote:

Aprilanne... You really musn't believe everything the Mail or Sun tell you about this"

A fine example of patronising crap. Are you and Wicked employed by UKIP?

Awks · 10/05/2014 22:44

The old boy opposite has one in his porch. I feel quite stressed when I walk past it. He's old though, late 70's I think so I wont say a word to him though he's not invited to our street parties any more

adsy · 10/05/2014 22:45

Will find the research after the voting on eurovision!

funnyossity · 10/05/2014 22:46

Manatee you put it so much more nicely than I can.

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 22:47

Funnyossity, why on earth would you think I am employed by UKIP??? What an extraordinary thing to say.

Aprilanne, if your son isn't getting education, that is because you are doing nothing to enforce his right to get it. I suggest you contact an education lawyer on Monday. As I say, he would be entitled to legal aid at the moment, which is more than would be the case if UKIP get in.
