to think my colleague was thoughtless and ruined my lunch?

Yesterday the canteen at work was closed so two work colleagues volunteered to drive and pick up lunch (we work in an area where it would take 15 minutes to walk to the nearest cafe and only have half an hour lunch.)

It was decided they would go to KFC and McDonalds. I had spent an hour previously complaining that I had got food poisoning last time I went to KFC. So I ordered from McDonalds and said to my colleague, please just get me the American burger of the week.

My colleague returned back with a Louisiana burger which is a chicken burger! When I said I had been complaining about getting food poisoning from KFC that it was common sense that I wouldn't want a chicken burger.

Their excuse was - they had other peoples lunches to get, I hadn't been specific and that they hadn't really listened when I complained about my food poisoning.

DID YOU EAT THE BURGER

vestandknickers · 09/05/2014 18:16

WHO ATE THE BURGER?????

SERIOUSLY......

WHY WON'T YOU TELL US?

KatieKaye · 09/05/2014 18:16

Sides officially splitting with mirth. Not.

Why go on at such length? You do know most adults have had food poisoning and know what it's like?
And why assume everyone was actually paying attention to what you were going on (and on and on) about? It's not the most interesting topic.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 09/05/2014 18:17

I really fancy a bargain bucket now, you fuckers!!

Nevermind.

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:17

Like I stated quite a while back, my OP was just about me thinking it was unreasonable for my colleague to buy me a chicken burger after we'd just ad a conversation about me getting food poisoning last week after eating chicken at KFC.

I wasn't asking if my response to the colleague was unreasonable.

Or what happened to the Louisiana burger was unreasonable.

FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY - WHO WONT YOU JUST TELL US WHO ATE THE BURGER?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU WOMAN?

itsbetterthanabox · 09/05/2014 18:20

Don't eat meat if you don't want food poisoning Wink

picnicbasketcase · 09/05/2014 18:20

But what did happen to the Louisiana chicken burger? Did you throw it across your workplace? Bin it? Or just think, ah well, it's not what I wanted but I'm hungry.

aermingers · 09/05/2014 18:20

I am now sitting in the queue at a mcdonalds drive thru just because of this thread. My diet is not thanking you OP

HannerHet · 09/05/2014 18:20

Did you eat it or not???????????????????
Did you????????

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 09/05/2014 18:21

DID

YOU

EAT

THE

BURGER

OR

NOT

?

KatieKaye · 09/05/2014 18:22

It was very quickly established that you were very unreasonable (and very unclear too) and we are all concerned about the burger.

You'll efinitely know if your response to your colleague was unreasonable if the Xmas works meal out is at KFC.

What did happen to the burger?
I'm kind of feeling sorry for it. "The burger that nobody loved."

I'll eat it and put the poor little thing out of it's yummy-looking, finger-lickingly-good misery.

picnicbasketcase · 09/05/2014 18:22

Or given it to a homeless person, worn it as an attractive hat, cut it up into portions and fed 5000 people with it and accidentally became the new Jesus?

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:23

Fuck I've lost this one. Oh someone has used a term that could, if I try really hard, consider offensive. Back in the game.

Not at all. You win some, you lose some.

I think in all honestly this is the first thread I've witnessed with a unanimous answer.

I genuinely don't like that term and I personally wouldn't call anyone crazy. Especially a stranger I know nothing about, I just don't think theres a need for it.

Back in the game? I didn't realise AIBU was a game. Like I said I think I've used the board correctly. I asked, I got my answer. I haven't flounced or continued to argue against people.

Maybe the burger is on Ebay.

I'll buy it.

KatieKaye · 09/05/2014 18:25

Was it used as an indoor Frisbee for office high jinks on a Friday afternoon?

I'm boycotting McDonalds. I thought the mozzarella dippers were here to stay this time Sad

HannerHet · 09/05/2014 18:25

DID YOU EAT IT???????

vestandknickers · 09/05/2014 18:27

Why do respond to everything except who ate the burger?

I think it is because you did and it slightly weakens your argument if you admit it.

(strokes beard wisely)

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:28

Maybe the burger is on Ebay.

Damn. If only I was that smart.

I could have made a fortune. The famous Louisiana burger. Why not coin that as a new phrase instead of a fruitloop?

She's a right Louisiana burger that one Wink

Ffs I've got to go out now, but you're on my shit list op, as a user and abuser of perfectly good burgers.

HannerHet · 09/05/2014 18:29

Agree vestandknickers

Cornettoninja · 09/05/2014 18:29

When did you start boycotting McDonalds? Lunchtime?

Please, please tell me you hold then partly responsible for your colleagues terrible deed? Grin

hotfuzzra · 09/05/2014 18:30

You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence etc etc etc
Good cop - we just want to know who had the burger?
Bad cop - backhands you and screams DID YOU EAT THE BURGER?
Good cop - please just tell him, I hate it when he's like this
