to think my colleague was thoughtless and ruined my lunch?

Yesterday the canteen at work was closed so two work colleagues volunteered to drive and pick up lunch (we work in an area where it would take 15 minutes to walk to the nearest cafe and only have half an hour lunch.)

It was decided they would go to KFC and McDonalds. I had spent an hour previously complaining that I had got food poisoning last time I went to KFC. So I ordered from McDonalds and said to my colleague, please just get me the American burger of the week.

My colleague returned back with a Louisiana burger which is a chicken burger! When I said I had been complaining about getting food poisoning from KFC that it was common sense that I wouldn't want a chicken burger.

Their excuse was - they had other peoples lunches to get, I hadn't been specific and that they hadn't really listened when I complained about my food poisoning.

It would mean the same though op, that's why we have terms like fruit loop, and bat shit, because we need them.

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:31

When did you start boycotting McDonalds? Lunchtime?

No I asked for them as a side when I placed my order. I was only told the sad news that they no longer do them when presented with my Louisiana burger.

Sorry does that count as a drip feed?

She ate the burger.
Definitely.
(who in their right mind wouldn't? it looked lovely)
But admitting that would be more unreasonable than expecting collleagues to a) listen to long boring tale of food poisoning and b) make magic correlation between that and McD's American Burger of the Week, as specifically requested.

SteadyEddie · 09/05/2014 18:34

The OP

to think my colleague was thoughtless and ruined my lunch?
BumpAndGrind · 09/05/2014 18:37

My mum had a Burger King about 15 years ago, the burger was followed by about 10 Bacardi & Cokes.

She still hasn't gone back to Burger King since....it made her ill.

Lol I love how some of these comments are said as if I'm not actually here.

It's like I'm actually on trial Wink

Errr- this is a virtual chat. In cyberspace, OP.
So no, you aren't actually here in my house.
And we've no idea if you are online or are off doing something else.

Like eating that burger.

Did you eat the burger?

vestandknickers · 09/05/2014 18:43

Not on trial. Case closed. You ate the burger. Why else wouldn't you say?

BadgersNadgers · 09/05/2014 18:44

OP, are you Katie fucking Hopkins?

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:46

Geez ok, no need to be so touchy.

I just meant the comments made were as if they were addressing all of MN but me.

Like the users of MN are the jury.

vestandknickers · 09/05/2014 18:46

...and enjoy!

to think my colleague was thoughtless and ruined my lunch?
BadgersNadgers · 09/05/2014 18:47

She is, she's Katie Hopkins and she loved that burger.

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:47

OP, are you Katie fucking Hopkins?

Confused

I don't think Katie Hopkins would use MN. Especially not to tell them she ate at KFC and McDonalds - think both of those are beneath her.

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:48

vestandknickers did you make that yourself?

I'm impressed by your effort.

Cornettoninja · 09/05/2014 18:50

Sorry does that count as a drip feed

Not this time Grin

I just had a wicked thought though (don't know if it's been mentioned already), do you think you were bought a chicken burger on purpose for going on about your food poisoning?

FairyWand · 09/05/2014 18:50

I didn't call you crazy though. I called you a fruitloop.

livelifememories · 09/05/2014 18:50

I genuinely don't understand the MN obsession with Katie Hopkins.

I don't care about her opinion, I'm surprised so many of you do.

I don't see how I've come across as her on this thread.

OP posts:
vestandknickers · 09/05/2014 18:51

No I didn't make it.

See, how I just answered a question?

Maybe that's because I'm not an attention seeking barmcake.

YellowTulips · 09/05/2014 18:52

Poor orphan burger.

I think we should start a whip round to let it live out its final hours with an appreciative owner.

I bet it feels all rejected, alone and worthless.

I just don't understand how anyone can be so callous - even lowly McDonald's burgers have feelings. Sad

Itsfab · 09/05/2014 18:52

"it's common sense that if I was no longer could eat KFC because of food poisoning then you wouldn't go out and buy chicken."

This hurts my eyes. It is obvious what you wanted to say but it makes no sense as it is.

hotfuzzra · 09/05/2014 18:52

Haha vest
Why don't we have Like buttons on here?

WyrdByrd · 09/05/2014 18:55

It's not common sense to avoid all chicken at all!

Years ago (when I was a kid) I had a nearly upset stomach after eating McDonald's chicken nuggets. I braved then a second time a few months later and the same thing happened.

25+ years later I still won't touch them, but will happily eat McDonald's burgers and love KFC.

If didn't specify 'no chicken' that's not your colleague's problem.

nannynoss · 09/05/2014 18:56

'I don't think Katie Hopkins would use MN. Especially not to tell them she ate at KFC and McDonalds - think both of those are beneath her.'

She ate it!

Goldmandra · 09/05/2014 18:56

Maybe that's because I'm not an attention seeking barmcake.

Is barmcake better than fruitloop?

BadgersNadgers · 09/05/2014 18:58

I don't see how I've come across as her on this thread

Because of your apparent lack of self-awareness perhaps?
