to think my colleague was thoughtless and ruined my lunch?

Yesterday the canteen at work was closed so two work colleagues volunteered to drive and pick up lunch (we work in an area where it would take 15 minutes to walk to the nearest cafe and only have half an hour lunch.)

It was decided they would go to KFC and McDonalds. I had spent an hour previously complaining that I had got food poisoning last time I went to KFC. So I ordered from McDonalds and said to my colleague, please just get me the American burger of the week.

My colleague returned back with a Louisiana burger which is a chicken burger! When I said I had been complaining about getting food poisoning from KFC that it was common sense that I wouldn't want a chicken burger.

Their excuse was - they had other peoples lunches to get, I hadn't been specific and that they hadn't really listened when I complained about my food poisoning.

There is a different beef burger every week. The chicken one is available throughout the promotion. This week's beef burger is the Nevada one. I checked the McD webshite.

Actually it's a source of slight sadness to me that I was diagnosed before I ever got to have a KFC. Only slight though, I bet it's pretty rank. [wistful]

Not really relevant, but I have had food poisoning a few times, and the worse two cases were caused by chicken burgers.

Well it probably wasn't for an hour no, that was just an estimate.

Also in my department there are 7 of us (4 desks, opposite 4 other desks) so it was a joint conversation, not just me droning on for an hour straight.

Assuming you've been at work today posting all this shite and given you moaned about food poisoning for an hour before this whole drama even commenced- wouldn't it have been easier and more productive to walk the 15 minutes to the nearest cafe and get your own fucking lunch
