NC because DP found out about mumsnet! just to be safe Grin

The guys came in to fix the phones at work today. I can have a laugh with them. I can talk to them.
But now, I won't.
The guy said "How are you today?"
I said: "I'm tired, me. DP was on the xbox all night"
he made a weird face. then he asked me, when are you learning to drive?
and I said, "when DP gets a job"
He replied with: "Bin him. get someone with money!"

NONONO. You DO NOT say that to someone. I LOVE my partner and I do not appreciate this at all. We live with our parents so not having a job is no problem at the minute, no DCs, no house of our own as of yet. DP is going in the forces. I don't give a flying fuck about money. Yes, I'd like to be spoiled, but just being with him, to me, is being spoiled. Being told to "bin" my DP because I can't afford to drive and he was on the xbox is completely disgusting to say to a person.
AIBU to be COMPLETELY SEETHING about this?!

They were truly divine and so easy to make!

TequilaMockingbirdy · 06/05/2014 22:07

Red -

chop chilli, onions (in strips), garlic and a bell pepper
Fry all of those until done enough for you
Chuck your chip in the pan (these should have been cooked prior)
then add paparika, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper
Cook and cover

they're lush

and sorry, but I've seen no bullying on this thread!!

TequilaMockingbirdy · 06/05/2014 22:07

LineRunner · 06/05/2014 22:10

Can I go against the grain here and say that I don't really like the sound of those chips.

AnyFucker · 06/05/2014 22:11

There are some proper menkle people on this thread

TequilaMockingbirdy · 06/05/2014 22:22

If you don't like the sound of them, please get some from your local chinese takeaway and try them! My home cooked version are only slightly similar... honest they're ace!

LineRunner · 07/05/2014 08:51

Sorry I posted my scepticism twice - MN went a bit crap last night.

Anyway, nah, still unconvinced. Chips are designed to be lashed with salt and vinegar and placed inside a slice of white bread and butter. Fact.

Thumbwitch · 07/05/2014 11:12

Nah, I'm partly with Linerunner. I don't like chilli or paprika, so they wouldn't work for me.

But I don't do double-carbing either - can't do chips in bread!

Chips need salt, vinegar and tartare sauce. Mayo at a pinch, if tartare sauce isn't available. Black pepper instead of salt works quite well too but salt is better.
