Every time a UKIP person speaks, they want to say rape within marriage is ok, Lenny Henry should go back to Black Land, bit too scared to stand in a by election just now...yet

PEOPLE ARE STILL DESPERATE TO VOTE FOR THEM.

What hope is there? Humanity is as truly doomed as ever.

section six Healthcare and the NHS:”Re-examine community care and support congregate communities for people etc

This is no longer part of their policy according to Star Etheridge

Mrsjayy · 02/05/2014 10:01

this has been hidden in the policy of course they still believe this is a good idea

angelos02 · 02/05/2014 10:06

Some people opt to get screened to see if their baby has downs syndrome don't they. Not hard to extrapolate why they are doing that.

Hullygully · 02/05/2014 10:06

They say No to Political Correctness...

call a spade a spade

StarDustInTheWind · 02/05/2014 10:06

they have NO MPs.....

can't see that changing... Here we get a straight choice, Tory or Lib Dem - vote swings as it is usually about 50/50 and always gets a recount.... Not sure whose vote UKIP will take... don't really care for either party.... they won't get in around here - ever...

bigdog888 · 02/05/2014 10:09

How is that a bad thing? Hopefully we'll be able to safely detect more and more abnormalities earlier in pregnancy as time goes on.

Hullygully · 02/05/2014 10:11

It contradicts the Christian Country idea.

Christians don't screen and abort anything less than "perfect"

OP posts:
Mrsjayy · 02/05/2014 10:12

to be fair Nick withdrew from standing in a bi election the other day didn't he they know they dont have the power to actually do anything they are just all hot air but scarily some people are actually listening to them,

oh and angelos there is a huge difference between a pregnant woman having screening (and it isn't always about terminating) than some fuckwit saying that all women who are carrying babies with downs should abort them, who is HE to say that disabled children are not worthy of life,

dawndonnaagain · 02/05/2014 10:19

For starters that's his personal opinion and to be honest I see nothing wrong with aborting foetuses where we can detect abnormalities early on in pregnancy. Forcing abortion is a little strong, however where a pregnancy is continued against medical advice then the additional healthcare/education costs should be met by the parents.
Shock Shock Shock

dawndonnaagain · 02/05/2014 10:22

Oh, and my disabled children are brighter and more articulate than many on here. They will also go on to be contributors to society. They are also nicer than many on here.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2014 10:27

But surely non articulate disabled people have value too. Wink

Hullygully · 02/05/2014 10:27

That Stephen Hawking should have been done in. What's he contributed?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2014 10:30

I am obviously against abortion of disabled foetuses.

But I don't like the line of argument that people with disabilities are valuable as they contribute.

They are of value anyway as human beings.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2014 10:30

And peoples children.

dawndonnaagain · 02/05/2014 10:31

Apologies, Fanjo. Smile

dawndonnaagain · 02/05/2014 10:31

And of course they are. We all have value. I'm just having a dig at the idiots who think they are somehow superior.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2014 10:32

For disabled foetuses I mean ones with abnormalities detected.

And obviously I mean I am against forced abortion of all foetuses showing abnormalities.

As am not a eugenecist.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/05/2014 10:33

Its Ok dawn. I know you are on the right side :)

dawndonnaagain · 02/05/2014 10:33

Hully That Einstein chap didn't do much, either.

Twit · 02/05/2014 10:34

So what happens if a baby is born with downs (for example) that was undetected in the womb?
What if you're in an accident/have a stroke/or anything at all happens to you and you end up needing more help and support than you did before?

The more I read/see/hear about them, the more pissed off I get.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 02/05/2014 10:35

"Forcing abortion is a little strong"
Er, a little strong? A little? I think the phrase, 'utterly unacceptable in a civilised society' is what you're looking for.

"however where a pregnancy is continued against medical advice then the additional healthcare/education costs should be met by the parents"

Well, it's nice to see some concrete policy ideas coming from UKIP folks. Hmm

What if the medical advice is that there's a 50:50 chance of abnormalities in their much loved and wanted child? Should the parents only be liable for half the extra healthcare/education costs then?

bigdog888 · 02/05/2014 10:37

Oh, and my disabled children are brighter and more articulate than many on here. They will also go on to be contributors to society. They are also nicer than many on here

I very much doubt that they are so seriously disabled that medical advice would have been to terminate the pregnancies?

Pagwatch · 02/05/2014 10:38

'Forcing abortion is a little strong'

Hmm
Mrsjayy · 02/05/2014 10:38

twit it is fine when Ukip are in power they will have nice little instituitions communities for the disabled to live

dawndonnaagain · 02/05/2014 10:38

Ahh, so now you want to know how disabled is disabled? They are all in receipt of DLA. That good enough to terminate their existence?
