Gurning face of Farage and some xenophobic, dumbed-down message about immigrants. I'm normally quite a calm person but this leaflet has me reaching for the matches. Nazis the lot of them

We got one today. The dog loves shredding stuff and I rarely let him but today, he went to town. Wink

ForalltheSaints · 29/04/2014 21:44

Let it go for recycling. And go and vote on May 22nd for someone else.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 29/04/2014 22:03

I know perfectly well that Polish HGV drivers have driven down my income, but putting these scabby know-nothing scrapyard mutts into power is too high a price to pay for an extra case of burgundy a week.

Bellossom · 29/04/2014 22:07

My son learnt to rip paper the same day we got one through the door. :D

feathermucker · 29/04/2014 22:13

Vile party Angry

Using propaganda tactics and playing the immigration card (as they know simply to mention the word will appeal to some) does not a viable political party make!

If any darken my doorstep, they'll be posted back freepost asap Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Nocomet · 29/04/2014 22:23

YANBU, my DDs put them straight in the bin for not believing in gay marrige.

SauceForTheGander · 29/04/2014 22:27

YABU. You rip it up into lots of little pieces and send each one back to them using their free post address listed up thread

LadySybilVimes · 29/04/2014 22:27

Send it back with the freepost address, but first tear it in half so they can't reuse it. You could send it back in 2 envelopes then too. Make them pay for sending out vile leaflets.

MyrtleDove · 29/04/2014 22:28

The idea that EU membership makes us less British is just bizarre. France and Germany have distinct identities, are still very much French and German respectively, and are very pro-EU. The EU hasn't made Germany any less German, and it hasn't made Britain any less British.

Vagabond · 29/04/2014 22:35

The UK is in the top 10 economies in the world and can trade freely on it's own with it's wider allies in China, India, North and South America. I believe strongly in disengaging from Europe. I think UKIP is bang on about this policy.

Allowing free migration between EU countries is wrong. One of the biggest free trade agreements in the world is between Canada, USA and Mexico and they do not allow free migration between the countries without strict measures. When you think that Canada and US have similar cultures and the same language and the longest common border in the world, how can it be possible that the EU allows unrestricted migration between member states? It's a recipe for disaster.

HolidayArmadillo · 29/04/2014 22:37

I was dismayed to see one of the north east candidates is a maths teacher, don't think I'd be particularly chuffed if he was teaching my DC's.

WidowWadman · 29/04/2014 22:41

Vagabond - how do you feel about the UK citizens who live and work in other EU countries - would you want them to be forced to come back?

LineRunner · 29/04/2014 22:44

So if a person just send loads of bits of random paper with

UKIP, Freepost RLSU-HZBG-UBBG Lexdrum House TQ12 6UT

on the front, then ukip would have to pay for it?

Goodness.

LadyMacmuffintop · 29/04/2014 22:45

YANBU. I got one. Actually I got two. I object to the utter waste of paper. It's got a lovely poster for me to put in my window in it saying I will be voting for them - the CHEEK I tell you!

I'm not a big fan of any political party or ideology but this lot really do make my blood boil.

I did get a small thrill from stepping on Farage's Gurning face and then driving my buggy over him though as he lay on my doormat.

BigRedBall · 29/04/2014 22:46

Don't set it alight! Wet it a bit and wipe your bum with it. Then pop it in a Jiffy bag and send it back.

Vagabond · 29/04/2014 22:50

What do you object to about UKIP and what do you think about their policy of getting out of Europe. That's their main premise.

Quinnypin · 29/04/2014 23:00

How about their homophobia, casual racism, scare tactics, anti-unionism (!), transphobia, misogyny... need I go on?

Scarletohello · 29/04/2014 23:10

Cogito URNBU. I posted a thread tonight about a BNP party political broadcast tonight. To me UKIP. are the 'respectable' face of British racism and xenophobia. Sure there are sensible debates to be have about employment, immigration and allocation of resources but both the BNP and UKIP are not the means to do that as they trade on fear, stereotypes and hatred. Unfortunately the main political parties are seen as both corrupt and out of touch with the concerns of many working people that these parties can capitalise on that. I feel very concerned about how this country is heading and how the far right are using these issues to promote their own agenda. I just don't know what to do about this...

Vagabond · 29/04/2014 23:15

Quinnypin, you haven't explained a thing about UKIP - you've simply ascribed casual policies to a party that doesn't espouse them.

UK citizens who work abroad should be given visas - just like every other country in the world - to work based on their ability to contribute to an economy. It's pretty simple. The same should be done here.

I can't just go an live in Australia if I want to. I have to prove that I can add something to their economy with my skills. I will be assessed and given a visa based on my abilities to add to the country I am applying for residence in. The same happens between the USA and Canada. It makes perfect sense.

Some of the comments on this thread just demonstrate pure ignorance.

Team Put yours up and insert the word 'NOT' between voting and UKIP. Grin

FengMa · 29/04/2014 23:22

Team, I was just about to say that despite the national letterbox littering campaign, I'd yet to see a poster in a window...

Darkesteyes · 29/04/2014 23:46

DH spotted one in a window further up the road.
Did a double take in sainsburys today Their banner near the tills in my local one looks Ukippy cos its purple and has what looks like a u and a p in it.

Its to advertise their nectar I think.

Agree with Cogito

PeachyParisian · 29/04/2014 23:47

YADNBU OP! As an immigrant expat living elsewhere in the EU at the moment, I really struggle to see how anybody can think freedom of movement is a bad thing for society. ukip make my blood boil!
What on earth makes people think they have a right to benefit from chunk of land just because they were born within certain manmade borders?? And immigration definitely goes both ways, I wouldn't be too happy to forced to return to the UK.
