to wear my HUGE judgypants in MacDdonalds.

Took dd to MacDonalds today. For us this is a holiday treat as we enjoy the odd burger, although dd is really just lured by the plastic tat in the happy meal TBH. She is slim and eats normally rest of time.

But, bloody hell, the people in there were beyond belief really. Makes me realize how other families actually live and why the health of the country is as it is.

Family 1- all huge, and the youngest dd (aged about 9) was definitely the fattest and not only that she was eating a full sized meal, and worst of all was wearing a full red velour lipsy tracksuit with gold embroidery!!!!!

Family 2- Two boys with their dad, all sat vacantly staring at their food and munching away. First boy opens his (supersize) fries and says "wheres the salt?" Dad doesn't say anything, just fishes in the papers on his tray and passes packet of salt to child. The chips are ALREADY covered in far too much salt, especially for kids, and if the child asks for salt this makes me think this is a regular thing for him, to cover his food in salt.

Don't these people take any responsibility for their health AT ALL?

Now if the kids were hungover I would judge in my own name though Grin

slartybartfast · 13/04/2014 08:15

obviously it is sad that children are fat, but why do you think they are fat?
and why are you worried about the salt?

i dont this necessitates a huge judgy pants, but may be it does in your life.

burgercat · 13/04/2014 08:15

Well, they were eating the larger than normal sized then, whatever that's called. You see, when these things are just an occasional treat the names and logos etc aren't ingrained in the brain!

I don't know how to break this to you, OP...

...I'm afraid you are the people in McDonald's.

Spottybra · 13/04/2014 08:16

I hate macdonalds. My children love their plastic toys too. So we go along in the holidays and I sit there with a drink whilst they mess and then leave their meal because 'its actually not as nice as at home mummy'. I bite my lip and the temptation to snap at them. Hopefully they will grow out of liking macdonalds. We made beef burgers last night at home and they loved getting their hands in the mincemeat and egg mixture. What's even more impressive is the fussy four year old ds ate it all. He never finishes a meal.

I judge, its hard not to. But then, the girl in the velour track suit could just have thrown it on at the last minute as something happened to her clothes, I've done that with dd with a ugly velour track suit someone bought her when she's dropped water down herself as we were leaving the house.

My children delightfully announced we would go to macdonalds as their Mother's Day treat to me. So on Mother's Day I indulgently let them drag me there and we all looked a mess as we had been to rugby practice on a muddy field.

BornOfFrustration · 13/04/2014 08:16

Supersize McJudgeypants

Legologgo · 13/04/2014 08:16

i like to judge in macdonalds tbh

but it obviously an underclass largely who go there regularly.

its not hard to comprehend

slartybartfast · 13/04/2014 08:16

oh, i see the size of the portions, yes, my dd at 9 wasnt allowed a huge portion.

you need a whistle blowing school nurse or someone, or a leaflet drop.

that might be a plan, leaflet drop in mcdonalds.

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2014 08:16

I thought they only served breakfast at this time of the morning anyway.

I hate threads like this.

I'm overweight, I normally eat pretty healthily but due to PCOS struggle to lose weight.
I have the odd McDonalds as a treat and hate the fact that there's someone in there like the op who sees me and assumes just because I'm overweight I must eat McDonald's all the time.

slartybartfast · 13/04/2014 08:18

i prefer subway myself.

ivykaty44 · 13/04/2014 08:18

Worra no I can't understand how people can like the taste of the stuff McDonalds serve, I struggle with the smell of it as I pass the local takeaway place it makes me want to retch, it isn't pleasant to me the smell is equivalent to rotten eggs

burgercat · 13/04/2014 08:18

Well, I was led to believe salt is unhealthy in excess amounts, because I have read it in health advice in various places.

And what do you mean by 'what makes me think the children are fat"? Errr, maybe the big fat tummies with rolls of fat and double chins and the size of arms and legs?

OP posts:
EverythingIsAwesome · 13/04/2014 08:19

Perhaps the child likes that jogsuit? Maybe its comfortable and she feels good in it? How dare she wear something you do not approve of!

HoneyDragon · 13/04/2014 08:19

As opposed to the OverClass who eat at Nandos.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 13/04/2014 08:19

Yes we get the point. You only go to McDonalds for an occasional treat whilst feeding your kids only raw organic vegetables the rest of the time, while all the fat families are fat greedy bastards taking no responsibility for their health. Doesn't ANYONE have compassion or understanding for others any more?? Angry

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2014 08:19

Don't worry Lj8893. If the OP needs 'HUGE' judgypants, she's probably well overweight herself Grin

EverythingIsAwesome · 13/04/2014 08:20

Lj8893, just what we need, eh? People judging us everywhere we go and what we are eating. No wonder there are so many food issues and disorders!

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2014 08:20

Yes to you ivykaty, but surely you understand that's not the case for everyone?

ShatnersBassoon · 13/04/2014 08:20

You see, when these things are just an occasional treat the names and logos etc aren't ingrained in the brain!

Ha! It's all unnecessary knowledge , these poor people brands that have been around for years and are a feature in every town in Britain. Powndland, Grieg's bakery, Liceland. You don't need to clutter up your mind with general knowledge.

Pleasejustgo · 13/04/2014 08:20

Unfortunately mcdonalds has it's very own special little hangover and blood sugar crash.Hmm I'm all for instant gratification under certain circumstances.

Oh that elusive hangover cure...

burgercat · 13/04/2014 08:21

Sorry, it was yesterday!

OP posts:
velvetspoon · 13/04/2014 08:21

What a nasty bitch you sound. Commenting on what a child was wearing, plus the general judgy attitude about people who are not 'slim' ugh.

I'd rather like a Lipsy tracksuit tbh, if they weren't quite so expensive. I think they're nice.

As for the salt, my DS2 loves salt. He doesn't have it at home, I don't even add it to food when I cook much less have it on the table. But when we eat out (not often) if he wants salt, he can have it. Who's to say that boy isn't the same?!!

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2014 08:22

Sorry, it was yesterday!

Yes of course it was...
