Took dd to MacDonalds today. For us this is a holiday treat as we enjoy the odd burger, although dd is really just lured by the plastic tat in the happy meal TBH. She is slim and eats normally rest of time.

But, bloody hell, the people in there were beyond belief really. Makes me realize how other families actually live and why the health of the country is as it is.

Family 1- all huge, and the youngest dd (aged about 9) was definitely the fattest and not only that she was eating a full sized meal, and worst of all was wearing a full red velour lipsy tracksuit with gold embroidery!!!!!

Family 2- Two boys with their dad, all sat vacantly staring at their food and munching away. First boy opens his (supersize) fries and says "wheres the salt?" Dad doesn't say anything, just fishes in the papers on his tray and passes packet of salt to child. The chips are ALREADY covered in far too much salt, especially for kids, and if the child asks for salt this makes me think this is a regular thing for him, to cover his food in salt.

Don't these people take any responsibility for their health AT ALL?

Spottybra's post was a work of self-serving genius and quite hilarious.

Misspixietrix · 13/04/2014 10:44

andsmile I never said you did. Sorry if I was unclear but I was referring to the OP who did say it.

slartybartfast · 13/04/2014 10:46

what did spotty bra say?

weneedtotalkaboutshriver · 13/04/2014 10:48

Advanced search is your friend Slarty.

I have to say when I read it I wondered if she was taking the piss. Having re-read it now I think she was (the changing clothes because of water being spilt tipped me off). Well spotted Caitlin

I love mcdonalds. I used to drag DH there all the time, to his horror. You'd never guess he's the one from a working class background while my parents have professional middle class jobs and are fairly well off. (Not rich by a mile).

I still indulge in mcdonalds during my work lunch hours sometimes. I love the filet of fish and the cheese burgers and the apple pies. And their mango smoothie.

I'm really thin though (BMI 19-20) so I don't have to worry about people like the OP judging me.

thornrose · 13/04/2014 10:51

I seen badly dressed kids IMO all the time in things that dont fit or match

See this I find really odd, a child's clothing would have to really stand out for me to have an opinion on it. How do you notice other badly dressed/non matchy kids all the time? Are you comparing them with yours?

ilovesooty · 13/04/2014 10:54

It's at times like this I think the ability to name change to protect identity is highly questionable. It's one thing not to want to be outed to protect yourself in RL but quite another to do it because you don't want your online mates to see you posting like an unemotional cowardly twat. If I knew who the OP usually posted as she'd simply go on my list of people I wouldn't want to engage with again but unfortunately I can't make that choice.
The OP was horrible and subsequent posts were even worse. Anyone who inwardly sniggers at children they don't know sounds utterly vile.

HopefulHamster · 13/04/2014 10:56

Am I the only one who has chips with the sweet and sour sauce? Honestly it's the best one they do. The sweet curry is good too.

BorsetshireBlue · 13/04/2014 10:59

I'm going to ask a question of those of you that do judge. What do you actually do to make a difference for your local communities? Do you get out there and help or just sit behind a screen and call people names?

ExcuseTypos · 13/04/2014 11:00

I agree ilovesooty

MNHQ- can we have a brief questionnaire when we name change. Something along the lines of-

Why are you NCing?
A) to protect your identy due to personal saftey or hugely embarrassing medical problemflange related

OR

B) to protect your identity because you are about to post in a goady, twatty manor.

If someone ticks B, a red button will go off at MNHQ. Simple.

miss thanks you.

andsmile · 13/04/2014 11:03

How many of you have had a lsy cream egg Mc Flurry yet?

BuzzardBird · 13/04/2014 11:04

The people who dip are even fatter! [grins]

TheNewSchmoo · 13/04/2014 11:05

On page 8. I'm getting tired of reading the whole thread, has a nasty spiteful woman who no doubt voiced all her vile opinions and so will be bringing her very slim and super healthy kids up to be spiteful judgemental individuals, who laughs at overweight children and their clothing, explained why she didn't have the courage of her conviction to use her usual username yet?

ilovesooty · 13/04/2014 11:05

Unempathic not unemotional.

If I were the OP I'd feel embarrassed to have

Inwardly sneered at a child whose circumstances I didn't know
Shared it on the internet
Gone to the trouble of name changing because I was worried my online mates wouldn't like me any more.

What a pathetic way to behave.

BuzzardBird · 13/04/2014 11:05

Friedbrain · 13/04/2014 11:07

We go about once a month..

I really don't think a burger and chips will kill them.

Altho I do ask for a completely plain burger as the seasoning of salt and pepper they put on is ridiculous..

I also definitely wouldn't let them put extra salt on there chips

Happy meals all round, even for me!

They always have a fruit bag afterwards and no other treats that day

I don't think a 9 year old needs a adult meal either!

EllaFitzgerald · 13/04/2014 11:09

I think you're actually being rather spiteful. She's nine years old, for Gods sake. How much influence do you think she's had on the family meal plans since being born? Do you suppose she earned the money for her clothes herself? I only hope she didn't see you watching and judging her for doing exactly the same thing you and your child were doing.

And actually, laughing at a nine year old for their fashion choices and then claiming you only mentioned it "for fun" says more about you than it does about anyone else. It's snobbery and downright nasty.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/04/2014 11:09

She's posted that she's gone out for the day so she can walk away from the thread, cowardly as well as spiteful.

slartybartfast · 13/04/2014 11:09

i think my rule was once they were 10 they could have adult meal. i baulk if my dd aged 14 wants a large one though. but agree, mcdonalds are not really very filling.

SauvignonBlanche · 13/04/2014 11:09

What a horrible OP!

Sniggering at the overweight 9 year old in a full red velour lipsy tracksuit with gold embroidery!!!!!

I would judge you OP but I can't as you did a cowardly name-change.
