That was unnecessary and not even a good comparison. Justine can exercise choice over what she reads. Liz Jones couldn't exercise choice about whether or not a MNetter would make public allegations about her on this site.

I think Justine was simply replying in kind, since Liz had spent much of the previous few paragraphs slagging off other women for not wholly related reasons.

Gert, to be honest, it's always been OK to read the DM. Just because a few on MN decide to boycott it and feel a bit superior, I'm sure many here read it for some light entertainment. I cringe to be honest when members apologise for including links or discussing something they're read in it.

Oh, and I think I can see why Justine responded as she did, but it might have been better to rise above - as is so often recommended here.
