Another thread has got me thinking... I shower every day, usually in the morning. I wash myself with non-perfumed soap. I am not a sweaty or smelly person, at all. However, if I think it likely that DH and I are going to, ahem, have relations, I will usually pop into the bathroom and give my fanjo a wipe with a wet washcloth. No perfumes or wet wipes! Otherwise I worry that it will smell sweaty and just not very good. However, I have always wondered: is this weird or do other people do this?

Ashadow people aren't poking around inside their fannies with bleach. They are taking a damp cloth to the outer part of the vulva. Depending on what I've been up to, the tops of my thighs can often get sweaty.

Shadow the vagina is a self cleaning organ. I don't wash up there. The labia however are folds of warm, moist skin. Don't see why it's outrageous to suggest it might get a bit whiffy there much like armpits or other warm moist areas of the body.

Yes I get that but someone up thread was talking about a "good soaping". That's not good for you! If the outside bits need a wash then obviously wash it. But some posters seemed to be talking about wafting vats of air freshened up there. Surely you can see the sense in pointing out that it can damage the chemical balance of the vagina by shoving soap up it, that way leads to thrush and irritation?

Nope never. DH has never complained, and he probably would, he tells me if my breath or armpits stink (admittedly he doesn't mention the armpit thing if he's hoping to get lucky...)

I'll use a baby wipe. Amazing how we still get through baby wipes when my youngest DC is almost 12.

If I was hoping for a bit I would probably have a shower to de stubble my legs if nothing else but if it was a spontaneous session then it would be take me as I am.

An ex friend of mine would stop during foreplay to go to the bathroom and clean and dry herself incase her partner was offended by her natural lubrication. She had issues with her body I think.

Rarely! However mine and DPs sex is nearly always spontaneous so wouldn't want to have to stop mid shag! I've never had any complaints!

We try and factor in a bath if we know we are going to DTD - which is often these days because of the hectic life/children combo.

But if we are going to have a 'spontaneous shag, we still both have a bit of baby wipe action before getting down to it. We both like oral, I have to have lots of it before I am... ahem... wide enough to enjoy so its best to be clean.

Can't say so. For us sex is generally spontaneous and I certainly wouldn't stop mid foreplay to excuse myself to give myself a wash... DP doesn't either and it's never bothered me.

DP has never complained and never told me if he has found balled up bits of tissue between my flaps, though it may have happened. However, we have been together long enough that a bit of stray tissue wouldn't shock him. Same as he doesn't make a special effort to clean himself before we have sex. He too showers daily, often twice, so is 'regular' clean rather than spic and span!
