trufflehunterthebadger · 21/03/2014 23:02

My dd only drinks water. I give it to her to wash the ginsters and pombears down with

PartyOn · 21/03/2014 23:03

Biscuit My DD used to drink green tea. I can't believe the OP tbh what do you want a medal?

Whatutalkinboutwillis · 21/03/2014 23:29

Funny I was talking about this with dh earlier. I was so anal with ds 1 inky giving him water and milk and god forbid anyone offered the poor kid a sweet! His adult teeth however have come in looking not so great!!

Ds2 lived on bottles of squash and coke till we adopted him and he has the most perfect little teeth. Totally weird!!

happytalk13 · 21/03/2014 23:35

I put Export strength Vodka in my DC's cups (kills all the bacteria).

AShadowStirsWithin · 21/03/2014 23:36

Ahh this thread again! When I only had DD I used to come on threads about squash (the many we've had before) and defend the valid reasons why DD had squash.

I'm now a parent of two and I have no reasons. DCs eat chocolate, drink squash, like biscuits, sugary tea and when we eat out I give the 1yo chips! And you know what? I don't care what anyone else thinks.

They have a healthy balanced diet with a small amount of "bad" foods. It won't kill them.

LegArmpits · 21/03/2014 23:38

Ah but what about Scotch?

happytalk13 · 21/03/2014 23:51

Depends....single or blended?

NeedsAsockamnesty · 21/03/2014 23:57

Needsasock- I wrote that now seriously want a cider lolly. Do you know where they sell them?

Asda do them in boxes of 6 sometimes marks and Spencer's have them as well but those are a bit bland

GroupieGirl · 22/03/2014 01:45

Did someone upthread seriously suggest that extended breastfeeders need to get a life?!

Way to fan the flames!

FYI, My three-year-old is super fussy, and will only drink water or milk...it's the macdonald's twice a day that you'd probably take issue with.

Topaz25 · 22/03/2014 01:52

When I was a teenager my tooth enamel was so eroded that my dentist thought I was bulimic. I wasn't. I hardly drank pop and he said it could have been caused by the acid in all the fruit juice I drank because I thought it was healthy. So I can certainly see how it can affect developing teeth. I wouldn't say it's terrible parenting but it's important people know the risks.

Misspixietrix · 22/03/2014 07:22

Ashadow you give your 1yo chips?! Shock .

Misspixietrix · 22/03/2014 07:24

Topseyt Truckers use cola in US to clean their exhausts!

ChoudeBruxelles · 22/03/2014 07:29

Not read the whole thread. Op do you have children yet?

pictish · 22/03/2014 07:31

So the OP never came back eh?
Wind 'em up and watch 'em go.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/03/2014 07:38

Wow MN has changed on this.

If a child of 18 months regularly drinks Coke from a can, it is terrible for their teeth and quite shocking.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/03/2014 07:40

I am laid back about food and drink, but Coke is for older kids.

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 22/03/2014 07:41

Op my children are being brought up properly. Savannah now knows Chardonnay from Pinot grapes. Little tike even reminded me to taste the toasted gooseberries in her Zinfandel rose last Saturday.

So advanced for 14mths.....

Misspixietrix · 22/03/2014 07:42

Fanjo I think MN still think it is bad. They are just questioning the authenticity. .

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/03/2014 07:48

Ah ok. I though it was a climate change thing

wallaby73 · 22/03/2014 07:50

Dunno, i thought a crack pipe was pretty "lax"?

Melonbreath · 22/03/2014 07:51

Blimey. Better cut out the gin and tonics for my toddler dd, the lemon is obviously bad for her teeth!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 22/03/2014 07:58

My 2 boys are currently eating Cheerios (without milk) and drinking Ribina in front of the TV. Am I the worst parent on the thread? Wink

Honestly OP get a grip (I believe the MN phrase is ODFOD).

Abusing/neglecting children=bad parenting

Giving squash=perfectly fine parenting

Misspixietrix · 22/03/2014 08:05

ah ok I thought it was a climate change thing Grin Fanjo.

Mygastisflabbered you are indeed. It is saturday. You should have been at Greggs for 8am sharp for their sausage roll breakfasts and chocolate eclairs.

Fakebook · 22/03/2014 08:14

I gave dd2 (4m) a taste of chocolate yesterday Blush.
