mmm buns

oh ermm... yes dd would not drink water or cowmilk so juice and formula to keep kidneys, bones, muscles, heart, brain healthy.prefer healthy major organs to be fair.

ds had mainly breast milk until he was 2.5... (put that in your pipe and smoke it!) he did drink water and cowmilk so had those too.

I really can't get excited about what other people's kids eat and drink. The 2 year old drinking coke could spend 99% of the time drinking water and eating a diet that would put Mary poppins to shame.

Snap shots of people's lives are just that

Hey, calm down, we could all get shandy at school in the 80's. In primary. Next someone is going to ban cider lollies then I am going to get angry!

Where is OP?
I hope she wasn't the woman in the queue behind me in the local shop earlier, DS had decided he'd quite like a 'froooo shoooo', so I got him one. He's not 3 til November, I should have asked him to wait!

Ah, and something else I have just remembered. Coca Cola can be used to clean toilets. Something to do with phosphoric acid in it.

I think that makes it a fantastic drink for children. Grin

Oh, that 18 month old with the coke was probably mine. Except he's a big boy, so he was probably about 12 months at the time. And he wasn't actually drinking it, he just liked to hold a bottle and slosh it about, the lid was always on. The teeth were damaged in an accident btw, just in case you were wondering,

My dd1 only had breast milk and water when she was under 3, ds1 had breast milk, water, neocate under three, dd2 the same (and ds2). Didn't I think I was the perfect parent, oh yes. Thought coke/juice etc was dreadful.

Dd2 has got diabetes and often has juice/coke/lucozade to treat hypos. It really makes me wonder (and feel guilty) about the times I silently judged others.

My ds wouldn't drink milk or water, constipation anyone? Hes now 9 and will still only drink squash.
Dd 9 months loves water and milk, its your luck, personally I would give them my wine if it got them drinking enough fluids.

An 18 month old drinking Coke?! Really? That's disgusting. We're a strictly Pepsi household.

My DB would not drink anything and howled day and night until DF tried giving him some of his tea, cooled down, from a teaspoon. He loved it and from then on had warm, milky tea with 2 sugars in his bottle. He is now in his 50s, is normal weight, in good health and has all his own teeth.

I give my son coke sometimes since i like it myself. I don't want him being one of those kids that only have to sniff sugar and go hypo. So similar to the nuts at an early age preventing nut allergies I allow him to try food I eat to get his system used to things.

Call me a bad parent, but my son is confident, willing to try any food and has always slept through the night (even when I don't want him to, for instance Christmas day lol).

Of course only milk & water, how else does one make a latte for a 2 year old?

If not for the milk & water then it would just be an espresso & surely that's just wrong?!?

Christ, someone had better tell the staff on the paediatric ward who gave DS his first ever squash at 10 months. Fucking pushers, leading me into a world of terrible parenting.
