Okay so this is not a life or death Aibu but, my local Lidl have opened a bakery! They have shit loads of very cheap yummy bread and cakes.

How the hell am I supposed to walk past the pastries - Aibu to think they are bastards!!!!!!

Just came back to see if anyone else hated the bakery and I am sorry but ScrambledeggLDCcakeBOAK, you eat half a loaf as a bun!

I am awed at the loaf bun, I may just have to try that one.

As for all those who hate touchy food, do you never eat out?

Each to their own, I am not fussed as I hover for the newly baked fuckers.

Got two pretzels for breakfast this morning....

Yes, I eat out frequently. But my food most probably hasn't been coughed either over or in the general direction of, for hours. Neither had it been left out for filthy bastards to handle, or let their revolting offspring handle. Totally different situation. If you can't see that or be bothered by it then we will have to accept our differin standards. You're welcome to yours.

I've seen groups of people in our Lidl loitering round the bakery bit waiting for it to come out the ovens Grin

GiniCooper · 20/03/2014 22:08

Jesus no, it's vile frozen stuff heated up in an oven.

It's not a bakery, it's a pretendery.

It's not even appetising looking.
I'd be interested to see the contents of your trollies.

HazeltheMcWitch · 20/03/2014 22:28

OOh, Gini - your Judgypants are hoicked up so far there, they are in danger of coming out of your nose.

What else would you like to know about my trolley?

Zepherial · 20/03/2014 22:46

Oh well, thanks to all those who indulged my Aibu.

I am getting twitchy about the comments so am off to feast on bakery delights.

Gini on Monday my Lidl trolley had:

2 cheese twists
apples
bananas
broccoli
cauliflower
carrots
tomatoes
4 pt semi skimmed milk
pilgrims choice strong cheese
low fat greek yoghurt
2 packs dog treats

I have no qualms about my shopping trolley or the lidl bakery

HazeltheMcWitch · 21/03/2014 10:26

Yeah, but you ate the cheesy twists first, didn't you Gemma?
Those delicious heated-up bastards.

GemmaTeller · 21/03/2014 11:34

Yep, they were gone before we got the shopping out of the car Grin

HazeltheMcWitch · 21/03/2014 12:11
Grin
NaturalBaby · 21/03/2014 12:13

Contents of my trolley: fruit, veg, cheese and a donut with pink sprinkles for ds (before 9am).

Indith · 21/03/2014 12:21

Mine usually has fruit and veg and a big tub of greek yoghurt.

Last time I went ot Lidl the woman behind me at the checkout had black pudding, bacon, bread rolls, a box of red wine plus 2 bottles of white Grin. I felt nothing but respect.

Charlesroi · 21/03/2014 13:08

Lidl is my closest supermarket and I have to walk past the baked goods almost every day. Poor me Grin

MelanieCheeks · 21/03/2014 13:12

They do gluten free loaves, that are actually edible!

HazeltheMcWitch · 22/03/2014 15:26

Reading the Lidl mag that came with the newspaper, I noticed:

'Bakeries soon in every Lidl'. it says they're rolling them out now.

Good news for those without. Hold on, the Cheese Twists are coming...

DevlinMaccabee · 22/03/2014 16:56

I may, or may not have driven out of my way to pop into Lidl today to try one of the pretzels someone upthread mentioned.

listsandbudgets · 22/03/2014 17:01

YANBU utter bastards. Apple turn overs, big triangular cheese topped rolls, doughnuts all seem to leap into my basket. I think they put something in the air that makes me develop some kind of impulsive behavior disorder everytime I walk in the place... honestly I don't intent to pick them up but there they are at the check out every time.

Romualda · 19/01/2019 10:38

Googled Lidl donuts calories and stumbled upon this old thread. What you all think of them b@$tards introducing new crispy creme style donuts? Just ate 3 different ones...

CandyCreeper · 19/01/2019 11:46

I cant eat anything from lidls bakery after seeing the most biggest black fly sat on one of the donuts. That was enough to put me off for life!

Dieu · 19/01/2019 11:52

The Portuguese custard tarts!!
49p each, and they're a couple of quid in trendier places.

Polarbearflavour · 19/01/2019 11:54

Pain au chocolat.
Croissant.
Cookie.
Doughnuts.

I really fancy a doughnut as I can walk to Lidl. But I’m still in bed so...

Dieu · 19/01/2019 11:56

As an aside though, I do wish they'd put their orange reduced stickers over the barcode. I was waiting at self-service last time I visited, they asked me to go over to a till, and the cashier didn't put through one single reduced item!

LakieLady · 19/01/2019 12:13

*cheese twist for the journey home? Amateur

I snarf one in the car park and have another for home with a cuppa*

They used to be 3 for £1 in our local Lidl.

I'd buy 3, and eat one. Then I'd have to eat a 2nd one, because the first one was so damn goods. I'd have every intention of saving the 3rd one for DP, but then realise I'd have to go through to trauma of watching him eat his when I didn't have one, eat the 3rd one and hide the evidence.

I swear I put on a stone while that offer was on. I was effectively carrying a sackfull of cheese twists round my midriff.

Polarbearflavour · 19/01/2019 12:17

Are the cinnamon swirl things any good?!
