to ask how you told your dh you were pregnant?

Just found out I'm pregnant with our last baby. It's a surprise but we always said we'd have one more so it's a welcome surprise. I know some people don't like to make a big deal of telling their dh, that's fair enough, but I do want to as this is my last chance to do so. Did you tell your dh in any kind of different or unique way?

If I recall correctly, I handed him a pot of wee and he dipped the stick.

I said 'it says here you need to read it after...'
'Er, it's positive' he said (test went off with lights and sirens, I think. None of that faint line business!)

I wrapped up a pregnancy book for men, with a tag saying 'guess what... You're going up be a Daddy' or something, and left it on the bed.

I thought he might need a minute to compose himself (planned but very quick!) rather than having me staring at him.

Yes he's at work. I don't want to just call him or just tell him. We have the day off together tomorrow and I want to tell him in a different, more unique way.

Why don't you email him lists of names you like for girls and boys? Or put your due date in his diary and casually ask him what he's doing that day?

He has his Rota on an app on his phone and I'm always asking him to check if he's off on X date. I was thinking of scheduling due date in then asking him to check that date.

Was thinking of that Bob, she's 2 so could work. Was also considering sending him a photo of her in her little tikes car with a 'dd on board' sign on and then a couple of mins later of my tummy with a baby on board sign on

2nd time I bought DD a big sister T Shirt and text him a picture of her sitting up and smiling.

He didn't get it.

So actually my way of telling him was 'did you not get my text...? No... The picture?? Of DD2? Yeah, what's on her t shirt! Yes!.... Do you still not get it?.... Because she's going to be a big sister!!!!!... No... No... Not eventually, now! It doesn't need to fit for long?! I'm bloody pregnant!! Did you not get that??!'

Have you got maternity clothes still? One spectacularly large dress or something, that he would recognise, and leave it lying on the bed? Or those dodgy jeans with enormous stretchy bump?
My friend had same (odd) craving each time, with DC3 she wrote items on a post it and told DH it was shopping list, and watched the penny drop.

I left my wee stick on the table where he would see it on his return from work. He didn't have a clue what it was.

Ended up in hospital. They did standard urine check and nurse announced I was pregnant which neither of us knew!! After leaving the hospital we went to the supermarket and re-did the test ourselves!!

DS: He came in from work, I sat for another 3 hours in complete silence before I blurted out "I'm pregnant" and burst into tears, then told him I was having the baby but I'd understand if he didn't want to stick around. FGS I was 33, we'd been together for 2 years and were living together. Thankfully he looked at me like I was a bloody idiot and then started laughing.

DD: He told me! I pee'd on the stick and gave it to him to watch.

I put a post it on his desk - I'd told him I was going to buy a test as I was a few days late so I think it just said 'Yes - positive'. Second time... I can't remember. I think he was around so I just told him.

I put the lid back on the test (it was clean, honest!) and put it in the cutlery drawer. I don't know why, I was in a bit of a tizz! When DH came in I pretended to start cooking dinner and asked him to hand me a knife!

He did know what it was, luckily!
