It's been one of those weekends on here. I wanted to get in with this one first, before someone else did. Grin

Besides, isn't that what pets are for? Baby sitting?

Nanny0gg · 03/03/2014 10:00

Mine are grown up and I assume the DGC are being taken care of...

HoneyDragon · 03/03/2014 10:01

LEM we've had housework standards, appropriate work life balance, and the inevitable stop swearing thread.

This one was clearly due arrive.

Might even have a little nap before I sort this house out.

lljkk · 03/03/2014 10:02

lol @ Stinklebell.

My parents used to hide behind their newspapers all weekend, except when my mother was off campaigning to change the world (CND type) and my dad was doing sport (all day some weekends).

AnnieLobeseder · 03/03/2014 10:03

Ah, but a) mine are at school and b) I'm at work, in the public sector. So, not only are my children being neglected while I work full-time, but the poor tax-payer is sponsoring my MN while I'm at work!!

Disclaimer for the enraged tax-payer: I am working a 16-hour day today and will only be paid for 8 of those hours, so I feel somewhat entitled to spend a few mins on MN! Grin

YarnyStasher · 03/03/2014 10:03

Sallying at least it saves you the effort of taking them there this morning.

HoneyDragon · 03/03/2014 10:03

You all seem very defensive this proving that I am right and you are all terrible parents who should be off doing something I consider worthwhile.

The kids are fine....DH however is distinctly neglected....

ShatnersBassoon · 03/03/2014 10:04

Don't feel sorry for my children. Some teachers are babysitting them.

HoneyDragon · 03/03/2014 10:06

Annie

You have an addiction. It is impacting on your work. I can't believe you the wasting hard earned money on Mnet that could like pay for a hospital bed.

morethanpotatoprints · 03/03/2014 10:06

I have also been ignoring my family this weekend.
The house is also a tip and there is a stack of ironing
I'm such a bad person, please forgive me.

GemmaTeller · 03/03/2014 10:06

I feel sorry for my hoover Sad

thegreylady · 03/03/2014 10:08

My kids are 39 and 44 years old. They are usefully engaged in their professions. The cleaner has done the house and dh has done the shopping. Surely I am allowed a little mnetting?

HoneyDragon · 03/03/2014 10:09

So you say GreyLady, but do you really know where your children are? Do you?

[smug face]

CuntyBunty · 03/03/2014 10:10

I feel sorry for myself not my kids. The nearly six year old is an evil genius and my spirit is crushed. I seem to come on here and make myself feel worse of late.

DejaVuAllOverAgain · 03/03/2014 10:10

DD is at uni, DS is in bed, although probably awake and on his laptop. Ddog is at the other end of the settee sleeping having been walked and fed.

I've always believed in benign neglect Wink

"LEM we've had housework standards, appropriate work life balance, and the inevitable stop swearing thread."

Ahhhh - that explains it.

I have no housework standards, i am a lazy SAHM so my life life balance is fine and i did see the stop swearing thread, but i thought, fuck that!

YarnyStasher · 03/03/2014 10:13

Damn you honeydragon and your weird ideas. Thought I'd try out paying attention to the baby. While dancing round the kitchen for her amusement I flapped a little too enthusiastically and have badly bruised my hand hitting a cupboard. Ouch.

thegreylady · 03/03/2014 10:18

Dd is teaching a class of 14 year olds in Cheshire.
Ds is leading a conference in Istanbul.
Unless they are international spies with excellent cover stories...

barleywood · 03/03/2014 10:19

Greylady Grin

HoneyDragon · 03/03/2014 10:20

Yup, I usually ignore them too.

But when the get off Mnet thread starts everyone goes

What? Why? I don't want to? Who are you? Fuck off!

And a big row ensues. Pagwatch gets sad that everyone's angry, and then it gets deleted.

So this time .... I'm trialling a new concept.

The controlled bunfight. Pre empting that next big bunfight, and starting it first.

It appears to be working.

DS is at work in France. (Unless he has a day off & then he's out snowboarding, I suspect)

DH is on his computer looking at either aviation or weather sites.

Breakfast is cleard up, bed is made, bathroom's clean.

I am on MN & why shouldn't I be!
