MORNING! How are you feeling OP?

Jeez. 2+ bottles of wine is really excessive. :( I don't get why some people are so proud of their ability to put away large amounts of booze, it's disturbing.

MammaTJ · 02/03/2014 12:06

littlewhitebag it was 7.5%. Stomach is fine as I made sure to eat. I also drank a litre of squash before bed and too another litre of water with me, which I drunk through the night.

fatlazymummy · 02/03/2014 12:14

I remember drinking almost a full box of wine (think that's 3 bottles) in a few hours. That's when I finally admitted to myself that I had a problem and I needed to stop.
I agree with the poster who said that alcoholism can creep up on you.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 02/03/2014 12:16

22.5 units in a 3l winebox of 7.5% strength wine.

Discussion about safe limits here: The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) advises no more than 21 units per week for men and 14 units per week for women. But also, have 2-3 alcohol-free days a week to allow the liver time to recover after drinking anything but the smallest amount of alcohol. A quote from the RCP... "in addition to quantity, safe alcohol limits must also take into account frequency. There is an increased risk of liver disease for those who drink daily or near daily compared with those who drink periodically or intermittently."

Up yet OP!?

Skivvywoman · 02/03/2014 12:21

I started on my 3rd bottle last night slight headache this morning but I've been my shopping now going to watch DS football game..... I'm hardcore Wink

Weathergames · 02/03/2014 12:26

Slightly out of date info there - it's been yrs since anyone has been advising weekly limits - it's daily and the evidence is actually quite sketchy as we are all made so differently.

Just be sensible should be the guideline. Most people know when they are drinking too much, whether they chose to admit it and/or do anything about it is another thing entirely.

Think the OP was just having a blow out - not asking for a lecture on the dangers of alcohol.

Lottiedoubtie · 02/03/2014 12:31

OP... Are you ok?

littlewhitebag · 02/03/2014 12:34

7.5% wine sounds like a good thing. Where can i get that?

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 02/03/2014 12:38

She might not even remember posting this thread

wheresthebeach · 02/03/2014 12:39

OP you okay?

AgaPanthers · 02/03/2014 12:39

7.5% wine tastes nasty.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 02/03/2014 13:10

I found the info on units on the Tesco online site. They were selling a 3l box of 7.5% abv wine for £5.69. I imagine it tastes like paint stripper with a bit of sugar thrown in.

My uncle died of cirrhosis of the liver after decades of heavy drinking. It wasn't a good way to go. If it makes me smug and patronising to point out that the medical profession is united in recommending that we don't drink much alcohol, so be it.

MammaTJ · 02/03/2014 13:14

There will be plenty of wine free days now for me!

Finola1step · 02/03/2014 13:25

My money is on Ange still being in bed after having a rough couple of hours between 4 and 6am.

Am intrigued about the decorating though.

Dwerf · 02/03/2014 13:28

3 bottles? Ouch. Although there's a difference between 3 bottles of shitty 7% wine and nice 12% wine.

I used to be a bigger drinker than I am now, I once put away a bottle of rum and was still typing legibly. These day a bottle of red will last me two days. Mainly because my hangovers are now horrendous.

ImperialBlether · 02/03/2014 13:36

Dwerf, the difference is that 3 bottles of 7% wine would only make you 7/12ths as drunk as the 12% wine!

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/03/2014 13:37

I suspect op is currently experiencing 'too hungover to be awake, too hungover to sleep' symptoms. Possibly has become acquainted with the toilet bowl.

SackAndCrack · 02/03/2014 13:50

So the OP was drinking 7% wine?

MammaTJ · 02/03/2014 13:52

No Sack, I was! Grin

Dwerf · 02/03/2014 13:56

Imperial And the shitty stuff will rot your stomach, more than makes up for that 5/12ths of drunkeness not achieved.

I once drank a litre of baileys, it's not even that hard, stuff goes down like milkshake. Worst.Hangover.Ever.
