I'm only trying to put you off as i have suffered from near death by wine. It is not good. I am trying to be helpful, truly i am.

MillyStar · 01/03/2014 22:25

Ange you must be looking at your mumsnet screen with one eye closed by now!

And that's coming from a big drinker who's sunk 2 bottles on many occasions but never contemplated a third

Have a pint of water and go to bed!!

Not read every post but I'd be interested to know your usual alcohol intake? It can't be too low if you're still going after two bottles

wheresthebeach · 01/03/2014 22:28

Water, and lots of it. NOW! And have the aspirin by your bed for the morning....

Over a bottle I'm in hangover risk zone. Two bottles, my breakfast will definitely revisit me at some point in the day. Saying that my SIL and I discovered a magic hangover free wine on holiday and one day went through 6 bottles between us. Both of us brand new the following day...neither of us could believe it either.

WaitMonkey · 01/03/2014 22:30

Year's ago, long before the dc, I remember having a bad day at work. I bought 3 bottles of white wine for £10 [classy], went home and drank all of them. I still remember the hangover and the vomiting now. I have never done it since. I was in my very early twenties, lesson learnt.

CinnabarRed · 01/03/2014 22:34

You know what, I hope you do suffer tomorrow.

Your DP has done this kind thing, taking your kids out to avoid the fumes, and this is the repayment?

slev · 01/03/2014 22:34

DH and are partway down bottle 2 - although he's had a beer too. But we'll give up soon - honest guv!

Fair play to you if you can handle it. I really can't. But if you don't have to get up in the morning and it's a one-off, why not?!

Although all a bit irrelevant if you've already started - let us know how you feel in the morning - and how the decorating looks! Grin

slev · 01/03/2014 22:36

Ooh, yes, drink water. Lots. You'll be grateful in the morning even if you can't be arsed now.

Lizzabadger · 01/03/2014 22:37

You must have a serious alcohol problem to be able to type after two bottles of wine. Please sort it out for your children's sake.

ethelb · 01/03/2014 22:40

Thats 27 units. Nearly twice the weekly limit for a woman.

MyPrettyToes · 01/03/2014 22:40

I know I am on the wrong thread to voice this but I've never understood why people seem proud to be able to handle vast amounts of alcohol.

BlueJean · 01/03/2014 22:42

Wow Im sort of impressed. I am on my 3rd small glass of Rose and am contemplating going for gold and finishing the bottle that was already opened yesterday.

I was feeling quite daring before reading this Blush

fromparistoberlin · 01/03/2014 22:43

i suspect OP (a) is having a rare blow out and (b) will regret this tomorrow

OP, come tell us how you feel tomorrow.....nighty night

perplexedpirate · 01/03/2014 22:48

I love wine a LOT, but even I think this is excessive.
DH and I shared 3 bottles last night, and that was enough to have me reaching for the Nurofen this morning.
3 bottles to myself?!

NearTheWindymill · 01/03/2014 22:51

Bloody Hell Shock. I do two thirds of a bottle after a bad day. And get a headache in the morning.

Don't be silly.

CremeEggThief · 01/03/2014 22:55

I'm on my second bottle of white...so far this year Wink.

All I'll say is don't make a habit out of drinking three bottles on your own, but your hangover tomorrow will prove that to you anyway!

Beastofburden · 01/03/2014 22:56

Hope she hasn't passed out....

DamnBamboo · 01/03/2014 22:58

My mum used to always say she was having fun, whilst utterly pissed yet drinking more and more, despite nobody else drinking anything at all.

My mother is an alcoholic!

What exactly is so 'fun' about your evening OP?

treaclesoda · 01/03/2014 23:01

I enjoy a drink, I really do, but honestly OP, 3 bottles is into scary territory, especially if you are alone.

Ange1104 · 01/03/2014 23:08

no not passed out, but heading to bed! TV terrible!!!!

Best place for you! Take up a pint glass of water and two paracetamol. Night!

23balloons · 01/03/2014 23:12

I hope you've finished the decorating as you won't be in any state to finish tomorrow.

Hope you don't feel too bad in the morning. I drank a lot when I was younger, now 1 glass I'd enough do me.
