I don't think there is a cure for a 3 bottles of wine hangover! I've never drank as much as that and I've had some pretty horrendous ones. I'd imagine the OP is in for a rough couple of days. Sleep, lucozade sport and dioralyte usually helps. And lots of greasy carbs if you can stomach it. Ugh, wine hangovers are the worst. I'm glad I have a 2 year old to keep me in check these days!

MammaTJ · 02/03/2014 08:45

I drank a cheap (so low alcohol) box of wine last night!

Don't hate me people, but I just don't ever have a hangover!

HairyGrotter · 02/03/2014 08:45

I use Milk Thistle drops when I'm at festivals as it helps liver function...I go hard or go home BUT not 3 bottles of wine at home, alone, decorating.

I can do 2 bottles at a hard push but when in company, I'm more a rum fan.

Bet you feel fucking shite today...enjoy Wink

insancerre · 02/03/2014 08:52

would love to see the state of the decorating
I can't even drink 1 bottle by myself
Shock Shock Shock at 3
doubt op will be posting any time soon

curiousgeorgie · 02/03/2014 09:13

I drink a lot. Someone's I worry it's too much and promise to quit... But 3 bottles of wine would give me a three day hangover.

Had 3 bottles with my friend on Friday night and still feel a bit rough now!

Hope you're okay, I recommend sprite and beans on toast x

littlewhitebag · 02/03/2014 09:16

mammatj I find it hard to believe anyone could drink 3 litres of cheap wine in one go. If nothing else your stomach must be aching. What alcohol percentage was it?

SapphireMoon · 02/03/2014 09:19

Depends what the wine was- Lambrusco, Lambrini, Asti Spumente [yuk, yuk..] and op probably fine.
Anything else.... oh dear...

I can easily drink a whole bottle to myself with no effects the next day, but 3?? I would be so ill. How's the head OP? Brew

Weathergames · 02/03/2014 09:27

Gosh.

There are some seriously sanctimonious arses on this thread.

I say that as someone who worked in the drugs and alcohol support field. Hmm.

Driveway · 02/03/2014 09:27

Were they those tiny little mini bottles?

SapphireMoon · 02/03/2014 09:47

In what way sanctimonious Weathergames? A lot of people just saying 3x full strength bottles of wine for one person would make them feel ill...
Maybe it was low alcohol crap and op feels fine....

Weathergames · 02/03/2014 10:05

Pretty sure the OP is a grown up and fully aware of that.

eisbaer · 02/03/2014 10:07

I agree Weather! We all fuck up once in a while. Her kid was away FFS! Sure OP isn't that happy about it this morning. All the people sitting smugly having had 2 drinks, er could either of you have driven your kid to hospital had they taken ill overnight? No! So you're not ueber responsible either, we're all flawed.

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/03/2014 10:07

Weather she asked for people's opinions on opening the third bottle. People offered them.

If the thread was "I've opened my third bottle of wine and am really enjoying it" then the opinions on this thread would perhaps be "sanctimonious" but that isn't the title.

littlewhitebag · 02/03/2014 10:19

I think that most people on this thread were commenting on how they would feel after three bottles of wine rather than being sanctimonious.

OP asked should she open a third bottle - most people said no don't do it you will feel ill tomorrow - OP did it anyway.

Hey ho, she is an adult and can make whatever choices she wants, but if you open a question like that up to an internet forum you are going to get a large range of responses.

Weathergames · 02/03/2014 10:23

Think it was a lighthearted thread but she obvs didn't put that in the title Hmm.

Surely we all know the facts about drinking.

You drink excessively you are an alcoholic, you moan about your OH it's Domestic Abuse and you need to LTB.

MN is becoming health and safety on acid.

Liquoricelips · 02/03/2014 10:25

Is it really possible to drink three bottles of wine and still be able to post here and paint? Sounds like a joke to me.

Mintyy · 02/03/2014 10:26

No one has been sanctimonious on this thread.

When someone says "shall I open a third bottle of wine?" it is not sanctimonious to advise against.

Not at all.

I hope the poor op eventually stopped drinking and isn't regretting it this morning. There is nothing funny about feeling ill and embarrassed all day ... or am I missing something?

Weathergames · 02/03/2014 10:29

Why would she feel embarrassed she was alone?!

Mintyy · 02/03/2014 10:34

Ok, maybe embarrassed is the wrong word. Regretful.

MrsDavidBowie · 02/03/2014 10:35

Bet she didn't wash out the brushes Grin
i am still in bed since Thursday night with a stomach bug...the thought of a sip of wine makes me heave.

I have managed a piece of toast and 3 rich tea biscuits in 60 hours.

Birdo83 · 02/03/2014 10:40

No you shouldn't... you should take care of your health! Angry We only have one body!

Birdo83 · 02/03/2014 10:42

I can easily drink a whole bottle to myself with no effects the next day

Not scientifically possible. You will be more tired the next day at least.

YouStayClassySanDiego · 02/03/2014 10:45

Bird you're a bit late to Ange's party Grin
